One Book, One County

What if the whole of Stevens County read the same book?

That's the idea behind the One Book One County event, hosted by the Libraries of Stevens County. Already many people have read our county-wide book club book and talked about it, discussed what parts they like, and so on. Best of all, the author of the book will be coming soon to tell us all about his adventure writing it!

Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin tells the amazing true story of a mountain climber who got lost on K2 and ended up in a tiny village in Pakistan. To repay the villagers who saved him, the mountaineer built them a school - then went on to build many more schools - mostly for girls - in one of the poorest areas in the world.

Local highschools are using the book in English classes and many local book clubs are reading it as well. Put your copy on hold at the library ASAP - we have over 50 copies, but they are in high demand.

Tuesday 7pm at the Rendezvous Theater (Community College Campus) Colville
Wednesday 7pm at the Lakeside Middle School, Nine Mile Falls
