Ever feel like something is missing?

The only hope for real peace in life is a relationship with God. Everything else in life comes up short-they make us feel good for the moment, but that hollow feeling is still there. Ever felt that way? I know I have. The 3 steps below changed everything............

1) Admit that you are a sinner - This shouldn't be too hard far any of us. We all screw up, we all do things we wish we didn't. God knows this. He doesn't expect you to be perfect on your own. In fact, The Bible says that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Just admit it.

2) Believe that Jesus died for you - History proves that a man named Jesus walked the earth, performed miracles, and died on a cross. If he wasn't truly the Son of God, you think he would have died for a lie? None of us are pure enough to meet God on our own, so Jesus made a way. Believe it.

3) Commit your life to Him - Notice the "C" doesn't stand for "clean yourself up first". Ask God to fill the emptiness in you and trust Him to lead you from now on.

What? That's it? No rules about cutting my hair of getting the tattoos removed? No oath to never drink, cuss, or smoke up again? Nope. God is concerned with your soul. Take care of business with Him and then deal with those issues if He tells you to. If you're tired of the emptiness this world has to offer, a simple prayer like this is what you need:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe in your son, Jesus, and I need you to fill me with your spirit and give me strength everyday. Amen.

If you just prayed that, then your reservation in Heaven is confirmed. Please message us and let us know if we can do anything (get you a Bible, answer questions, etc). Your relationship with God is a personal matter, so talk to Him like you would your best friend. Don't get caught up in what 'religion' says about this or that. Trust God to lead you. Be blessed-the ascendicate

Alright, yeah...except wait....there is no historical evidence of Jesus.....and the story of his life directly mirrors the important points in the lives of Horus and many other prophets. Thousands of years before the new testament was written his story had already been told through the lives of other mythological prophets. The bible should be sued for plagery honestly. Interesting how the story and time period of his birth is identical to that of the Egyptian Sun God Horus, inscribed in heiroglyph in the pyramids of Egypt thousands of years before the supposed birth of Christ. Horus was also deemed the "Light of the World" the "Sun God", etc. and the "Crown of Thorns" was a metaphor for the sun rays, given Horus was a physical manifestation of the Sun itself. Also interesting, the new testament coincides perfectly with the astrological shift from the "Age of Aries" to the "Age of Pisces"or more blatantly; the age of war and vengeance (old testament, a ram's horn is still a common item in Hebrew Faith) and the age of compassion (pisces, or the duel fish, represent compassion, understanding, and spirituality). Strange that the bible would shift along with the ancient Pagans' beliefs in Astrology.....That is why the Fish is commonly used as a metaphoric tool in the bible by Jesus.
(Nehemiah 13:16, Exodus 7:18-21, Numbers 11, Psalm 105:29, Isaiah 50:2, Hosea 4:3, Matthew 7:10, Matthew 13:47-48, Luke 11:11 and Luke 24:42, etc. etc.)

Moses represented the age of the ram, the vengeful god, the god who killed and punished.
(Matthew 18: 7-9) (Proverbs 30:17) (Psalms 137:8)
I would start getting more into the rape and child murdering, but I'll save that for the flamers who try to offer any sort of meaningful debate to this post.

Jesus represents the age of the fish, peace, compassion, and forgiveness. Well hold on....Ole Jesus is pretty brutal himself.
(Matthew 10:34) "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." Wait, but Jesus is the Prince of Peace? Right? Oh here's a good one.
(Luke 14:26) "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple."
Hate your family....He said it, if you dont hate your family, you cannot be a disciple of Jesus.

"Perhaps people think that I have come to cast peace upon the world. They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts upon the earth: fire, sword, war. For there will be five in a house: there'll be three against two and two against three, father against son and son against father, and they will stand alone."
gospel of Thomas 16

Let's take a closer look at some interesting verses in the scripture. Hey ladies, do you like to speak and ask question in church? Too bad, GOD doesn't like that very much.
(1 Corinthians 14)
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(Ephesians 5)
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

According to the bible, women are thoughtless objects to be owned and taught by their male masters.
(1 Timothy 2)
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Ah the hypocrisy could be shouted for miles and everyone would keep sleeping. Hey, next time you see someone working on Sunday, stone them to death.
(Numbers 15:32) And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
15:34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
15:35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

Pretty harsh for the grandmas working the doors at Wal-Mart, or the guy who turns on your gas pump on Sunday at the convenience store. Well I gues they should all be put to death by your standards. Well i could go on and on dissecting this violent work of mythological hypocrisy but I digress....

Dave you have taken this out of context. In the Bible when you see a therefore find out what it is there for!!!!! Any way what you are refering to in Numbers as the stoning goes that was livitical law. When Jesus came on to the scene he showed the religious leaders that they letting law lead them, Jesus was showing us that it is a relationship with the Father. Religion is man made God want's a relationship. If you were to keep reading in regards to the Husband and wife relation you will find that it also states to the Husbands that they should submit to their wives. All I can say to you Dave is this wait if you want to but the offer is on the table. So if you say that this is a rip off of myth then you are telling me that you have made a choice to reject Christ. Your whole statement is full of verses taken out of context for your purpose to try to make others doubt. However us Christians who have read know the truth because we have taken the time to find out what the therefore was there for! I will pray for you Dave that you eyes will be opened...

How can you change other peoples minds when you cant even make up yours. you should do more research before attacking people with information that has so many pieces missing. you left out your reason why, and that answer cannot be found so easily by just hearing what you want to here the Bible is more than history it is a guide line for how you should live. i don't see anyone who has read and followed the Bible out there robbing, raping, and killing people. i will pray that one day you can find the peace in your heart that i have cause you will never have it carrying matches in your pocket.
God Bless

Here is my rebuttal. I'm not usually one to get into the arguing online thing, but I'd like to attempt to set the record straight.
First of all, in reference to the whole Horus/Sungod/Egyptian god story. Firstly, before you copy and paste paragraphs that have long ago been rebuttaled and rebuked, you may want to get some facts straight. The Egyptian sun god was Ra, not Horus. Horus was the god of the pharoahs. Have you considered that it's possible that Horus/Ra was the egyptian translation of Jesus? Jesus isn't exactly a Egyptian name. All these gods (egyptian, greek, roman, buddha, allah), it is a possibility that that these are all different names/different interpretations of the same person. Differences between Baptism, Catholicism, and Judaism prove that.
Time has even proven that yes, some parts of the Bible have unfortunately been lost and/or mistranslated. For example in Genesis, there was Adam and Eve, who had Kane and Abel. Kane killed Abel, and was banished to a city outside of Eden. Where did the city come from? So yes, things and some pieces of the Bible are missing. Does that make it false? No. Does that make it hypocritical? Not necessarily. During the translation to modern english (keep in mind the original bible, written on the dead sea scrolls, is in many different languages, some of which aren't even spoken anymore. So unfortunately any "expert" can "officially" translate them. This translator can have no idea what he's talking about (cuz how would anyone else know?) or shape the words to say what he wants them to say (again, how would anyone else know?) That coupled with stuff that is missing (and subsequently pieced together), yes, some things won't make sense. Does that make it wrong, lies, or hypocritical? No. A prime example is you. As ONE example of the several "examples" you've posted, you've taken a quote from Matthew 10:34 and Luke 14:26 and pieced them together into a story you want it to say. Taking sentences from the middle of quotes/paragraphs, using them out of context without showing the rest of it, and piecing them together proves nothing. So, where does the hypocrisy lie now?
And about the "gospel of thomas." Find me one Bible that has that book in it. The gospel of thomas was long ago thrown out becuz it was shown to be inaccurate. It was not a account on Jesus's life and his doings, but a book that had gospel sayings, with short words and sayings that are attributed to Jesus.
Moses represented an age of the vengeful god who killed and punished? I agree. Moses freed his people from the rule of Pharoah Feraun, who, suprisingly enough (and like all pharoahs), believed himself to be a god and killed and punished all who opposed him. In case you're screaming "he did not kill and punish!" I preemptively answer with this: If he didn't, then what did Moses need to free his people from? Hm.
Christianity and believing in God and Jesus is just that. BELIEVING. Have I personally seen God or Jesus's face? No, i have not. Then again, maybe I have. The Bible even says that mortal men cannot gaze upon the face of God (hence God speaking to moses as a burning bush). So maybe I have, I just wasn't aware of it. But for the sake of arguement, let's say I haven't. It doesn't matter. I BELIEVE. Therefore, I KNOW. I know and believe for a fact that Jesus saved my life during a particular night almost 8 years ago. The peace that fills my body instantly when I meaningfully and unselfishly pray helps me know.
And by the way, about your "there's no historical evidence" idea. First of all, there is the sheet (admittedly I've forgotten what it's called) that was used to cover Jesus when he was laid to rest after his crucifixtion. It's covered in his blood, and has details of his face and body in the blood permanently ingrained in it. Scientific (yes, SCIENCE, the very science that fights to disprove the bible) has dated and tested it and has agreed: yes, it covered the man believed to be Jesus Christ after his crucifixtion. Need more proof? What about the remains of Noah's Ark that was found on the top of Mount Ararat? There is remains of a massive boat near the peak, at 15,500 feet up the mountain, on the extremely steep side of the downhill slope coming off the summit. Let me guess, hypocrites carried some pieces up there to help the belief, right?

Here's another idea to ponder. Let's say, according to you, none of this exists, God and Jesus is just a fairy tale told to us to keep us all behaved. We all live our lives believing, happy, content, and at peace with ourselves. We die, none of it exists. What have we lost besides a happy life? Now lets say we live our lives however we want, cussing, promiscuous, sinful, whatever makes US happy. We die and everything DOES exist. Look what was lost.
God bless you : )

I don't want to get too involved in this, but if you are going to rebuke somebody for being incorrect, then please do it with truth. Cain was not banished to a city, but rather he left to build a city. If you look in the lineages of Adam, you see that Adam had many other sons and daughters, so that would also explain about the other people.

Second, the Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in the '50s only CONFIRMED what we ALREADY knew, that the 50,000 other translations, some dating to within 70 years after Jesus' death were completely accurate. Yes, there are many translations and different languauges, BUT there are only three languages that comprise the modern Bible: Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Variations of all of those are currently spoken, translations of their original languages are plenty.

Once again, I am not trying to start anything, but just want to clear up some slight misinformation. 1 Peter 3:15.

What you guys say is true, but I would just encourage you all to get away from the "sinners prayer" and the "abc list." Christ's sacrifice on the cross was a gift for us. It's not like God gives us a certain way we're supposed to receive this gift. Just believe. Out of our belief and understanding for what Christ did should come our obedience. This should not be done out of obligation, but out of appreciation and a grateful heart for what Christ did. Our motivation for living for Christ should be out of our love and thankfulness for Him. When you truly love someone, you want to please them. Our obedience is what pleases Him. Pleasing God is worship, and that's really the foundation of Christianity. It's purely relational.

So it's not that the sinner's prayer is wrong necessarily, but it's not necessary.

I couldn't agree more, Brian...it is all about the relationship. I think the sinner's prayer just helps people have a tangible experience to pull it all together. Its a daily walk, not a one time thing, and you summed that up well. Bless ya bro.

It's an amazing adventure. It's understandable how there are so many point's of view on Christianity. The great thing is, there really is only one "TRUTH". It's available and it's free. The common goal is to Love like Christ. It's a life long journey to fully know HIM. It doesn't matter who you are. We are all different, I think God made us that way to teach and to learn from all path's of life.

I admit I have ( and find myself at times still) fallen into the "do's and dont's of the Christian world. And, I don't think the same as I did 5 or even 15 years ago. We change and we grow and thats the great thing about all of it. But, we are never promised another extra minute on this planet. It's time to start looking for Jesus, don't wait. There really is nothing to lose. But as with any relationship, it takes commitment, courage and Faith. I've never been sorry to know the Lord. Just want to know him more !! That requires determination and strength. It's certainly not for sissy's. Your message of unconditional love is......... The Truth. Love you guy's...Lori

I think the sinners prayer is required. Now I do believe that being a Christian is about a relationship and not about religion. I have been hurt by religion a couple of times and also by all the legalism that comes with it sometimes. I think we need to die to ourselves everyday. But to become a Christian the Bibles says in Romans 10:9-14
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

So we need to Believe and confess Him as Lord, and if we call on the name of the Lord we will be saved.

You can't really have a relationship with anyone without communicating with them. So asking God to come into your life and surrendering to Him are key parts of our relationship with Him. Talking to Him is important, and how can we surrender to Him without praying to Him and telling Him we want Him in our life. I can't become friends with someone I don't talk to. So while I am totally against "religion" and think being a Christian is about the relationship, I have to talk to God and give Him my life before I get there. At least thats how I see it.

Also love the fact that there is a band standing up for God. I have done seup for concerts and been behind the scenes at Christian concerts and it always amazes me how some Christian bands act and talk. So thanks for being a Christian band that stands up for Christ and is bold enough to show it by putting up a sinners prayer and being not only a good example to people but setting a Christian example for other bands.
