Last Friday night I had the pleasure to play at Vincent's Jazz & Blues with Johnny DeFrancesco and Soul Patch. It was a wall of rock n' roll sound with Johnny D.-guitar and vocals, Donny Syracuse-guitar, James McLaughlin- keyboards, Seth Mellon-saxes, Paul Klinefelter-bass, Glenn Ferracone-drums and myself - keyboards. We had no idea what Johnny would call next from Hendrix, Cream, Allman Brothers, Doors, Stevie Wonder, Elvis to Chuck Berry. Somehow we managed to do it without any train wrecks. Besides being a great singer and guitarist, Johnny is one hell of a performer. This gig was more fun than my cancelled solo piano corporate party that night. Thanks Johnny for letting me play with you and the boys.
