Just home from another trip to KY and another killer ride w the VIBROLAs. First a big thanks to all the folks who have been listening to our records down there. 

Nothing is greater than playing for and chatting w folks who have been really listening to the songs. The reality is we spend lots of time and money and energy doing what we love to do and we hope that it gets through to somebody someday. Apparently it's paying off in Kentucky where, thanks to a buzz from Vibrolas, we're getting more random song requests, questions about certain songs (no- we don't use iv drugs and no- i've never killed anyone but i appreciate you asking), and just more general nods of encouragement and support than just about anywhere else. 

Even the negs are fun because people are listening bothering to tell us what they don't like. At one point after we played the Farm i found myself surrounded by people who HATED Moment- one of the new ones we opened both nights with. 'Lose that song' and 'save that one for your grandma, ok?' were some of my favorites. I'm someone who appreciates honesty and this is invaluable because everyone was really saying that the rest rocked- do more of that. so after 3 trips through there I have learned 2 things- KY likes it fast and furious and they love fireworks! I know this because to close the show at Farm I rigged my guitar and cowboy hat w roman candles and not so skillfully aimed out over the trees w out killing myself or anyone else (tho' I almost shot Jerold in the face). The response was enthusiastic!!! I hope someone got it on film. We shall see. 

Other highlights and factoids:

• The VIBROLAs are THE BEST ROCK BAND IN THE USA. We already new this and if you've seen them you do too. They're also the best darn friends a band could ask for. 

• we made friends w another band down there from our neck of the woods- the JESSIE MINUTE. We'll surely be doing some stuff w them around jersey and ny and providence. 

• ACCIDENTLY ON PURPOSE from columbus are killer. the only thing better than hanging w them around the pool and hearing them play was listening to there awesomely produced cd on the way home. Playing right before the legendary 9 POUND HAMMER was also a great experience. 

• myq and i both camped out in the woods on the Farm. I chose a secluded spot by a creek near a little waterfall. The first night I dragged my guitar and 4track out there and recorded demos instead of sleeping. well worth the sacrifice.
