Oh my! I’ve been tagged! Twice!

This provocative act was perpetrated by two individuals: the comely time-traveller Sierra Waters, and the intrepid Canadian astronaut-activist rocker RE-VO, both of whom have intriguing tag lists in their blogs!

I now have to tell ten unknown things about myself, and tag ten others. Here goes!

1. My favorite color is Martian red.

2. My favorite city is the horribly dystopic future Los Angeles in Bladerunner. Something about acid rain, strange polyglot languages, and renegade replicants gets me all hot and bothered!

3. For me, a good science-fiction novel is like taking a wonderful drug that lasts dozens of hours (I’m a slow reader).

4. I have twelve fingers…no, just kidding. Okay, only ten (both hands).

5. I have a tattoo of the Enterprise just above my caboose. (If you’re thinking you’d like to go where no man has gone before, forget it…).

6. Capt. Kirk was my first crush (re-runs).

7. Spock was my second.

8. The Russian brothers Boris and Arkady Strugatsky are my favorite science-fiction authors (see Roadside Picnic, Escape Attempt, etc.).

9. Vernor Vinge, Arthur C. Clarke and John Varley are in a dead heat for second place.

10. A perfect date for me is a walk along the beach, a sushi dinner, a sci-fi movie (in the cinema), and then a ride on the space shuttle. If anyone can arrange that, I will go out with them!

My Ten Taggees:

Deepak Chopra

Nova

Commander Sylvester of the USS Von Braun

Michael G. Munz

Matthew Peterson

Alan J. Garner

Clarkesworld

Anthony J. Langford

Citizen Rich

Klingons 4 Obama

And bonus taggees:

Jason Zachary Pott

It all sounded good up until the "Ride on the Shuttle" bit! Not on that clunky old boat!!! Eeeeep!

RE-VO

Hey, SciFi Fanatic,
A pleasure to play tag with you, lovely SciFi Fanatic.
A charming, cute, and very witty blogular responsoid, my dear. If the compelling 'Enterprise' tattoo is any indication of the marvelous intrigue of post-post-modernism, then I can feel that, as a McGowan tagster, I have done my bit for posteriority (and as Sally Simkin once put it, "...and have had my bits done.")
Engage!

oh, do i have to? lol.. if i list ten things about myself, i'll lose all my friends and any hope of getting my novels published... EVER!

haha

though it was interesting to learn that you have ten fingers..i only have eight.. is there sumthing wrong with me? lol

thanks for the insight.. a night watching sci fi is about as perfect a night i could hope for.. might have to arrange it again...

Wonderful list - makes me pleased I tagged you! :)

I especially like your Martian red, Bladerunner city (I've been to places like that, later this century), John Varley (his Millennium was one of my favorites - long before I started traveling in time), your tattoo, and your perfect date.

You seriously strike me as someone who may time travel some day ... If I see you in the Millennium Club someday, I'll be sure to say hello... :)

Just dropping by to say a walk on the beach (best part near Brewster), sushi (great new restaurant on Rt. 6a in Yarmouthport), and a scific movie (in the Harwich multiplex) are a good combo for perfection on Cape Cod ...

And a special star for your caboose line!

(And, come to think of it, I agree completely with your dozens of hours science fiction reading.)
