We caught up with Eddy Temple Morris who is one of the brains behind TignesFest to find out more about the event...

Q1: Where did the idea for the event come from and how did you end up working together?

The idea was from Claudia, Kissy Sell Out’s lovely manager, we ended up together because we’ve always supported each other from Day One, I invited the Cannons onstage at their first London Showcase and we’ve been mates ever since. Kissy was discovered by the Cannons, and we both played his demo on our radio shows.

Q2: How will the event different from other music events?

The temperature will be lower while the music will be hotter.

Q3: Tell us about some of the acts that will be playing at the event and are there any reasons why you chose them?

It’s all about the new talent, like In the City, so I’m taking a good handful of my top tips for 2008; Autokratz - British talent from the hottest label in the world today, Kitsune (the uber cool french imprint). Last yhear it was all about the French electro, now the buzz phrase i’m hearing is ’made in britain’. Autokratz are surfing the crest of this particular wave. Alex Metric - remixer of the Year 2007 for me, everybody is talking about him and how good his production is. South Central - they made the cover of 2007, theirt version of Higher State. their production is blistering and they are incredible DJs whose combination of decks and computers enables them to remix stuff live. It’s astonishing, much like Soulwax Nite Versions live. Shoes -spearheading the latest French invasion of the UK, the greatest cultural upheaval since 1066! Primary1 - Their debut single, on Erol Alkan’s new label, will prove to be one of the tunes of 2008, like Prince when he was good. They’re playing live, another tip top tip, their is a buzz on this lot bigger than a swarm of hornets.

Q4: Will any of you be broadcasting your radio show from the event?

Yes, it looks like I will, all things being well.

Q5: The event will take place in Tignes ski resort, which is one of highest in the world.  How did you end up choosing Tignes as the place for your event?

Claudia’s best friend lives there and the local people loved the idea of hosting a free music festival to support new music.  It’s also one of the most beautiful ski resorts in the region with so many activities on offer for people who may not be into skiing or boarding such as horse riding, swimming, trekking, husky riding etc.

Q6:  Are your skills on the slopes on parr with you’re your musical expertise?

erm, not exactly...I’ve snowboarded once and broke 3 bones on day 2, and continued in agony for 3 more days. It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done, even with the fractures.

Q7: What are your favourite après ski activities?

eating, drinking and chewing the fat.

Q8:  What are your top tips for people to get started on the slopes who have not skied before?

1) Get protective clothing, Dianese are good, the motorcycle stuff, because you will crash all the time. 2) Have lessons before you go, somewhere like the Snow Dome in Milton Keynes, they have real snow in there!

Q9: In one sentence tell us why we should come to your event?

Music as good as this on the highest resort in the Alps, one of the most beautiful places on earth, it doesn’t get any better.
