Hey Everybody!
Hope everyone is having a blessed 2008! Can you believe we're almost halfway through? For the past two years I've been involved with Lifebeat, the music industry's organization devoted to AIDS/HIV prevention and awareness and its wonderful program, Hearts and Voices. We bring live music to people living with the disease and it's been one of the most rewarding experiences ever! Use music to help, heal, encourage, inspire... hmmm, maybe that's the way the world is supposed to work?
Anyway, the real reason I'm blogging is to ask for help in raising money for AIDS Walk. On May 18th, I'll be joining Team Lifebeat in AIDS Walk 2008 and any help would be greatly appreciated! If you'd like to sponsor me and donate to this wonderful cause, you can visit my page:
My Donation PageEvery little bit helps and I would be very thankful!!
Also, two huge recommendations:
I just read the most wonderful book, "Marley and Me" - it had me crying and laughing out loud, many times while I was on the subway. I think a few people thought I was crazy... It was the most uplifting book I've read in a long time. If you're an animal lover, especially a dog lover, you'll really love it! I just hope they don't turn it into some awful romantic comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson for the movie.
For New Yorkers - check out Passing Strange. The most original and exciting show on Broadway in a while! Amazing music written by a fantastic singer/songwriter, great acting, and a live rock band on stage!
Have a wonderful week folks!
