So the 101st annual Tarrant County Awards Banquet was last night. And now I am going to write about it...

The theme was Stars of the Future. We had stars hanging all over the place, tulle and Christmas lights adorning the stage, and a taller-than-the-ceiling balloon arch with towers in the entry. The balloon arch was my thing. I was all worried about how it was going to go, and it turned out AMAZINGLY...

So I started the night with introducing the whole get-together, and then the flag ceremony, and then everyone was dismissed for dinner. Food was great, and I got to chat with my best buddy Courtney and the president next year, Ashton. It was great. Food was awesome.

After dinner, I started the awards ceremony. First award I got was one of the first ones given out. It was the Recordbook Certificate of Completion. The basic "We're giving you an award because you finished and turned in the necessary stuff" award. I got a certificate and a cute little pin. Then a few more awards passed, and then I got my community service award. Not only was it just the "You did the service and turned in a form, so now we're giving you something" award, but it was the PRESIDENT'S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD. I got a certificate, a pin, a letter with a stamped signature of the big man himself, another letter with the stamped signatures of the chair and vice chair of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, and a picture frame with a 4-H clover on it.

And my crowning achievement: the 4-H Gold Star award. It's the highest honor a 4-H'er can receive. I got a personalized plaque with my name in BIG GOLD LETTERS. It's so cool.

So after the awards were all done, I stayed to help clean up, especially since a lot of the stuff to clean up was ours. Finally got home and collapsed on my bed. 3-inch heels is not good for the klutzy people... especially when we're in black tube-like skirts and going up and down stairs... My feet!
