Hi Guys,

It really has been awhile since I've posted an update on here. So.... where do I get started?? I guess I'd like to start off by posing a question to all of you: Chris Allen or Adam Lambert? Srsly, I'm going for Chris Allen, and I know Jamie Foxx agrees with me. But I'm sure by the time you guys read this the American Idol finals will be done and dusted and a new star will be born. In the meantime I've been pondering the rebirth of some of my own friends who are about to become stars in their own right. The A-mazing AmbassadorS!

I'm so stoked for their new album. It's coming out soon, and we are (very sadly) excluded from the album launch (because it's going to be in Cebu). Nonetheless, I've got high hopes for all the songs and for each of the "Amba-boys". They have worked so hard for this album and have sacrificed so much amongst themselves just to get to this point, and of the people I've grown up with and listened to in the music scene in Cebu I would have to say The Ambassadors really deserve all the success and future cool shit that's bound to come. And lately we've all been looking up to The Ambassadors as we are about to start down the same path they have just traveled (recording and promoting their new album). They are consistently the best live band we have ever played with and they can only get better.

The last two gigs we have played with The Ambassadors were quite memorable. The first one being The Red Horse Muziklaban Kick Off in Ortigas, that one mainly sticks in the memory because I got pulled over for U-turning in a No U-Turn area. So I roll down my window and say "Sorry sir, I didn't know this was a no U-turn zone" and he says to me "Banda ba kayo? Dba Paspits kayo". I don't remember being so happily shocked and let down at the same time, if only because I was expecting to have my licensed confiscated and instead wound up having the cop say "Ok lang sir, have a good evening". Shtrange. The last Sonic Boom gig we played (@ 121 Bar in Makati) was really great because we not only got to roll with our Amba-Boys we also got some much needed fresh air after being holed up in the studio and at OJ's house for pre-recording rehearsals. I also got to talk to Tim of Macbeth (handles Macbeth bands for all of Asia). He was there to watch Typecast and The Ambassadors (newly signed to Macbeth) and we got to talking about Saosin who he is very good friends with.

This week, we moved closer to our recording readiness, by cleaning up 2 more of our new songs and tweaking 2 others. We've been working on a song called "Damage Done" which is more of an experiment in terms of how it will be recorded, but is definitely one of our favorite songs on the album. We are already 90% certain on the studio and are just waiting for the final announcement and meeting with Sonic Shape Staff. Also this week, we had Russell move out of the Faspitch Cave and into the new Manaloto Towers which is closer to his new school (and has a helipad). School starts for him Wednesday (May 20) and we know he's going to do great. Best of luck Russ, break a leg, but don't break your new sofa. hehe

Way to go, 'Paspits'! I first heard people call you that during ur WBOB gig. Cracked me up! Good luck to Russell with his studies and with his new life at the Manaloto Towers (complete with a helipad)!? I guess the Sonic Boom diet would not apply to him anymore!

Thanks for the update and have fun recording!

I can't wait to hear "Damage Done" and all of your new songs!

Much love, WORD!
