Who Gives Kudos:

Wednesday, May 28, 2008
Hello everyone. Thought I'd like to say a few things about our recent
shows, album and what we're up to. Firstly, it's been a very busy and
very enjoyable time. The last couple of weeks, since the shows around
Europe, have been spent making soundtracks for two films by Claire
Denis, which are going well. But that's all I can say about that for
now.
It's very nice to feel such a positive response to The Hungry Saw.
The live shows were even more fun than making the record. Everyone
together on stage, playing and singing, doing their bit, and a bit
more. And hopefully the good time was felt by all of you who made it
to the shows. Those who didn't, maybe we'll see you soon.
It took us a long time to get there, and a lot of changes had to be
made. But we we're there, and that wouldn't have happened without a
shake up.
It was also great to meet some new people who played before us.
Murder were very nice and beautiful in Copenhagen and Berlin, and so
were Sara and Gaz (Sara Lowes ) for the other shows. We especially
felt for Sara, all alone on stage in Paris. Perhaps we should have
picked up a tambourine or two and joined in.
Looking forward to a busy summer. Looks like everyone's going to make
the festivals, so it'll be the 12 of us on stage for most of them.
And then we'll be playing smaller shows in the autumn, with a smaller
group of people. But that's all still just an idea at the moment.
Thanks to everyone that played and everyone that came to see us. See
you out and about again soon.
Love to the lost and found.

Hi Dave,

the Folies was awesome, it was great to see that you guys were obviously enjoying yourselves. I would say Boobar summed up the way it was for everyone there, both on stage and in the theatre: a bunch of people doing something together, and the response you got from the audience was amazing!!! I've been to quite a few of your gigs over the past twelve years, and I must say I can't remember a round of applause that went on for so long!!!

I was hoping you would manage to fit extra dates before the end of May, but you were busy. I cant' wait for the autumn to come ;-)

Thanks ever so much for the joy

X

Hello David,

The show at the Festival Hall was amazing, and we've seen some great ones in the past (Palladium, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Court Theatre and The Barbican etc). The Hungry Saw is superb, although I'm suprised that the single b-side (Back to Earth, I think) didn't make the final cut.

Anyway the show was great, and there was a wonderful feeling among the throng.

Have you heard the fella who shouts out "Best band in the world" etc? He always says it at the most perfect moment, and no, it's not me!

Cheers
Paul Howard

I was devastated about missing the London show. It's the first one I've missed in years. I heard Stuart say on the radio that you may play Glasgow later in the year. I really can't wait.

There is just something so satisfying about listening to The Hungry Saw. I had genuinely thought that Waiting for the Moon was going to be the last time I would feel like that after listening to a record. Thanks for everything, David.
