Current mood:  jubilant
We at Aaargh! are terribly excited to be announcing the release of the Aaargh! Annual Year Three, or "Of Heavens & Small Mercies", which will be available February 26th, 2007 throughout Canada. This year has proved to be a milestone for many Victoria artists & this compilation is a wonderful collection of some of these endeavorers in their element.

With 18 groups numbered among Victoria's most brilliant to lead the parade, the third installment, Year Three, or "Of Heavens & Small Mercies", is an adept and caring representation of the enormous growth of this community.  As is strikingly evident with this years' compilation, Victoria's music community has become something to be celebrated, even reckoned with.  The submissions this year are grougeous, lovely things.  In them we fell at once restored and wounded.

Please feel free & encouraged to listen to & download the complation's first three songs NOW at:
www.MySpace.com/AaarghRecords
and www.MySpace.com/AwayRio

It has been a trial & joy in improving upon year two which was one of 2007's most successful independent Canadian compilations.  After holding 1 at CFUV for 6 weeks (and topping the charts at 5 more stations) the compilation took 12 on national college radio charts, making it the highest charting compilation for the period.  And in rounding out the year as the second most played album of 2007 at CFUV,we're thrilled to see how this year's will fare. We're equally glad to be donating a further $1 from every pressed copy to the Haitien Education and Literacy Program, which has played an incalculable role in impriving Pignon & Haities literacy rate many fold in the last 20 years.

If you can't wait until the 19th to get the compilation, there will be copies available at any of the following release dates:

Thursday, February 7th | Logans Pub

feat. Walrus, the Paper Cranes, the Pine Family, David P. Smith & Beasts and Superbeasts | $8 | Doors@9:00

We are equally excited to be announcing that Aaargh! will be releasing Colourbook's inaugural ep early this April.  More to details are to come, though in the meanwhile "Krakatoa" is available for download now, as well as on the Aaargh! Annual Year Three compilation.  The ep has already garnered glowing reviews from Said the Gramophone & I(heart)Music & I can't wait to see how others will like it.  They are a genuinely substantial group & we're glad to have such ignate labour to tend to.

Hopefully we'll see some of you at the release dates.  Many sincere thanks for reading.

Warmest regards,
-A!
