well, i guess something a little different for everyone.
it is very easy to get caught up in saying farewell to your 20's. i am thinking/ hoping, that is hard to do, because throughout that decade, we believe it is the best time of our life. which would then make it all down hill from here.
i just spent the last 5 days surrounded by some of my favorite people in the world. they all came together to show me how much they love me. they braved blizzards and tornados. they spent money they didn't really have. i still haven't quite put it all in perspective how cool that is. hey, i'm not bragging here. i'm just sayin is all....
i don't know who wrote that song, "my next 30 years" but i know what he was thinking. as some of our physical attributes start to slip away from us. it is time for some of the wisdom and lessons that we have picked up along the way to take up the slack. more mind work, less leg work. for crying out loud, i sound like i just turned 60. can't help it though, birthdays are if nothing else, a good time to reflect and really see what is going on around you. i'm starting to realize how truly short, a "lifetime" is. not focussing on the ever nearing end, but realizing that each moment you find yourself in, is truly precious. especially when you look around you and see the people that you love the most. on the other side of that very same coin, i guess if you look around and see people that bring you down, or hurt you, then there is no time to waiste in moving along.
sorry to get so long winded and philosophical, and i 'm sorry i can't spell philisophical. i really started to write this to say thank you to my mom, my aunt kellie, and uncle kirk and charlie, aunt linda, my cousin kyle, my girl mandi, mike and claire, dan o, chuck, kyle (from georgia) kyle ryan, miranda panda, jeremy, my brothers nick and joe, my sister steph, chris conn, glenn and sherry sweitzer, sarah, lindsey, morgan, my band brothers, lallave, kevin, hoot and mike (you guys sounded amazing! what a band!) kent and kristen, sharla, leanne, kelly schoenfeld, shane and hottie, k to the b, super john, brian, keith, matt, russ, troy olson, justin, bre, dawna, and casey... for coming out to be with me on such a special weekend. sorry for anyone i might have forgotten.
life is what we make of it. i'm sayin, "i'm just gettin' started. the best is yet to come!"
