Imagine, if you can friends, melting down your heaviest vinyl sounds - Black Sabbath,The Who, Budgie, Blue Cheer,Grand Funk Railroad etc adding a healthy dose of fuzzy rock n roll - MC5, Motorhead, Stooges, Rose Tattoo etc moulding the whole mess into a lead coated cannonball and shooting out of a 50 tonne cannon at 100 miles per hour. Well if you did you'd have something approaching the sound of GORILLA!!!

Formed in the South of England in '98 by Johnny Gorilla and Sarah Jane Russell, GORILLA set out from the start to be the sum of all of all the
dirtiest, heavyest, pant-shittingest most exciting rock n roll bands that were they're inspiration and influences. And you know what brother ?? They are.

After years of fuck the safety net shows, honing they're shows and sound 2000 saw the release of they're self titled debut LP, and filthy stew of heavy/light, fast/slow stoner rock n roll featuring pioneering tunes such as 'NOWHERE TO GO BUT DOWN', 'GOOD TIME ROCKIN' & the seminal 'IRONBALL'. The die was cast.

With the addition of drummer 'Billy Darlington (ex-Josiah)Tours of the UK with Josiah, Fu-Manchu, the Datsuns followed, as well as tours of Italy and Spain with the likes of OJM and the Small Jackets. 2003 saw the release of the 'GIMME SOME.....' recorded as was the first LP
at the now famous TOERAG studios in London. 'GIMME SOME....' carried on what 'GORILLA' had started ith the first LP-a no holds barred, out of control rock n roll juggernaut, featuring titles like 'VESUVIUS', 'TRAMPUS' & the Rose Tattoo inspired 'I'M DIRTY' melting hi-fi's around the world.

After more relentless gigging including shows with Blu Cheer and Atomic Bitchwax not to mention the closing spot at 2006's ROADBURN Festival (Orange Goblin, Brant Bjork,Witchcraft etc)2007 sees the release of they're 3rd LP 'ROCK OUR SOULS', which distills the essence of the GORILLA sound to it brain frying max.

Pure filth in the best doom laden tradition of authentic 70's sounds - 'ROCK OUR SOULS' sounds like it was recorded in the early 70's by Rodger Bain!!

Overtly 'fuck you' to the 'nice, clean' sounds most bands struggle for, GoORILLA have created a modern doom masterpiece that sounds like a lost 70'sclassic, 'VULTURE TREE, PREYING MENACE and SAND' pour from the speaker like a muddy molten lead, whilst HOT CARS, ROK R SOLES(sic) HIGH AND MIGHTY and BLUDD SUCKA sound like Motorhead and the MC5 slugging it out in a
Detroit basement.

To sum it up - GORILLA - TRULY THE LAST BASTIONS OF FUCK THE SAFETY NET ROCK N ROLL.
