So we're back in newtown now, getting some home-cookin and lovin from my mom and dad. Greg is playing the piano so the house is full of music.
We wrapped up DC with our show at Red and Black last night, which is a great bar with a real nice stage. Thanks to everyone who came out. Both DC shows were fun, but to be honest the best part about the past few days was just hanging out in DC. We had time on our off days to explore The Smithsonians, the national gallery, the air and space museum...true national treasures, and all free admission! I picked up some sweet cookbooks at the smithsonian and of course some freeze-dried ice cream. Plus, I got to reconnect with three great friends of mine: Quinn, Rachel and Hannah. On monday night, we made a hugh Pad Thai dinner and drank about 10 bottles of wine, listened to records, talked and laughed. Wonderful times.
tomorrow night we head to new york for our acoustic set at Rockwood Music Hall. In the next few days we'll also be editing some of the new JC tracks and getting them ready for mixing in Pittsburgh. Tour is almost over! back to the kitchen in just a few days. It feels like we've been in a parallel universe for so long now...It'll be nice to get back to a normal schedule but man is this stuff fun.
looking forward to the World Cafe on Saturday! hope to see you out there. time to eat some crazy pasta dish my madre is making. and open some more wine.
