‘War Child: Heroes’ is an unprecedented collaboration between music’s most heralded legends and the finest current artists. War Child asked 15 ultimate icons to select a favourite song from their classic back catalogue and to nominate the new act they most trust to create a unique interpretation of that hand-picked track. These Limited edition 7” vinyl box-sets are very exclusive. They include 15 breath-taking cover versions. This box set is signed by Bono.

Following the War Child gig at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 18th February 2009 Bono very kindly signed some merchandise to auction off. To make a bid for this exclusive and collectable box set head to the Ward Child Ebay shop here.

Hi Elaine,............My name is Heidi. I saw your posting that you finally got accepted for SSDI. I'm glad of that. I'm on it too because of epilepsy. I saw that you said you will probably remain homeless. If there is any way I can help you, let me know. I was facing homelessness several years back and was afraid I would end up on the street and die there because I wouldn't have access to my neurologist. You need a fixed address to get the ride to the doctor's office. But I called every politician in Massachusetts and they couldn't help me. I called the White House and they helped me. I now get Section 8 and don't live on the street. Please contact me and I can give you my email address and we can talk that way if you want. Don't lose hope okay? I've been there. For now, the one thing I really hope and pray for now that I have a place to live is that maybe U2 will do an acoustic show. I miss seeing them and the lights induce seizures. I've asked them but I haven't heard back. I hope they aren't mad at me for asking. I just keep hoping that maybe someday they will do it. Anyway, let me know how I can help you out with regards to housing okay?............Heidi A. Dietrich

Hey Joyce,............I'm with you on the dreaming part. My dream is to see them in concert again. They were about 3 miles away from me in Somerville, Ma. about 2 weeks ago. It was killing me. I have epilepsy and can't see them in concert anymore. I keep praying and I have asked them if they would consider doing an acoustic show. I've asked for about eight years. I've written to Windmill Studios, Paul McGuiness and them as a group. I haven't heard back yet. They must hate my guts by now. There are some other epileptics I know who want to see them too. It sounds silly but I miss the me that used to work, drive and go to concerts. ............Heidi

I can remember how giving U2 was and, as a person in the music biz ......myself, the object of being involved in making music or being any kind of artist is to get one's work out and produced and published ... But, remember your roots, U2 you've been commercialized too much, and I do believe fallen in the "Big Bussiness" gotcha trap, It's sad to see such talent start to tske advantage of it's true fans. Not the money people that didn't care when you guys' were on the way up but the hangers on who know U2 because they have the money that most of your fan that now have to pay hundreds of dollars to see you don't. Yea if they have the coin they usually just have a pass at the door ... how many of your ordinary fans have you done that for. To aution off to the highest bidder your music that only had a $ attached to it is like selling your souls. Give back, is how I believe the music world, and the world in general worked not take, take, take. Seen like you've lost focus.

You know I agree with you. They seem to forget how they got to where they are, its the fans who live paycheck by paycheck who make them famous. They need to remember us little people who don't have big bucks to go to there concerts and those who can't because of illnesses or imparments. I hope they here all you fans and do so.

Ya'll seemed to miss the point of the post entirely... ........Bono signed a *limited edition* version of the album to auction off to *benefit* a very worthy cause.... a charitable act in my book! How is someone using their celebrity for a good cause forgetting the "little people" ??? If anything, U2 is more in touch with their fan base than most acts around these days............If you bother to click the War Child link, you can buy the regular version of the album ....

These are the reasons I fell inlove with U2 in 1979. Your voice and the courage to speak up about the injustices and evils in the world, without any reservation about the costs to the band or to the members individually. Thanks for that, and for giving me the courage to talk without speaking, cry without weeping, scream without raising my voice. Keep it up!

Nice of the musicians to offer aid to people affected by War... yet why not EXPOSE the war-profiteering cabals/cartels that control the governments, the international banking and Illuminati crime family syndicates? Mass lies and deceptions are used to divide and disempower humanity and as long as everyone's heads are in the sand about it we can expect genocide and massive crimes against humanity to continue. For there to be wars you need programmed sheep-like people to be in an army and follow orders and not think about the real reasons of why and how the war was created (e.g. false flag terror). www.globalresearch.ca www.prisonplanet.com www.projectcamelot.org www.davidicke.com Educate Yourselves, IF you want to. U2 has made lots of great music, perhpas they can record an album called "War Pt. 2" that tells us what's really going on. George Harrison released Brainwashed just before he died...

Hey, I'm not trying to start a war here, I'm just stating that I would like to see them play to but funds are not in the cards. I'm glad that they do what they do for those striken by these senseless people, but also there are others affected by crimes of inhumaniary injustice.

Wow, these comments amaze me. I love U2 and what they voice, protest, educate and stand for in their music. Anyone who does a charitable act should not be criticized for it. I too am poor, disabled, waiting for SSI, cant do light shows and was deaf as a child but can hear now. I can't even hold my own head up....yet I tip my hat to these guys for helping in anyway. Their message is heard by millions and inspires millions, it wakes up millions to issues otherwise hidden away. Yet here I see criticism, sad. My love and heart go out to U2 for being who they are. I appreciate your efforts and feel the energy in which you send your message. Your music is incredible as are your actions. Hugs to you and may you be blessed to keep on keeping on! Music is a sacred thing...especially if you couldn't hear it at one time and then miraculously can. Be grateful for what IS happening, just because you are disabled or poor doesn't mean you too cant help or make a difference in your world. Heidi, you keep on writing those big guys and politicians....you are making a difference, sometimes we just cant see where that bottom line ends up....but I can bet you have already made a difference, you plant the seed, it will grow. Change is the only constant thing in life we can rely upon. Take care everyone and count your blessings. Thank you boys for helping with the Warchild issue. May you feel the goodness of that blessing you have given to others...peace,..Amber..
