Hi All,

Some of you have been wondering about the new Mosquito album but I'm sorry to say that the original plan has been scrapped and the album is not going to be made.  Scheduling conflicts, personnel upheaval, and too much time passed have made the project lose momentum and eventually fizzle out.  That is the bad news.

The good news, however, is that this doesn't mean that there aren't any new mosquito sounds to be heard.  So far, we have one official album called Source Material for Sound Quality Evaluation that can be heard/downloaded on our Soundclick page.  It features our original lineup and is based largely on studio based improvisations that we later overdubbed and called "songs".  It's playful and chaotic, sounding sort of like the Boredoms meets John Zorn's Naked City.

Also on our soundclick page are some select live cuts and parts of our yet-to-be released sophmore effort Sick Home Syndrome.  We have plans to release it in its entirety very soon.  Why it's taken us so long to get to is anyone's guess but if you liked Source Material..., chances are you'll like this one too.  It features an expanded lineup and now includes a couple of cuts from our second, more live oriented incarnation.

Now, in addition to all of this, Corpsefinger and I have been planning to get together soon to pound out a duo EP/LP(?) that will be released under the Mosquito moniker.  Having converted the band from a studio only freakout project to full on live monster has been very exciting and rewarding but we've decided that we want to go back to our roots and get back behind the 4-track.  We both feel that that's where the true spirit of the band lies and we'd like to harness that again.  We'll be keeping you updated as things progress and we appreciate your continued support and patience.

Take care!
