ok, i don't usually write these things, but will shamelessly share some thoughts about a friend to express some admiration and respect. so... i just got back from hanging out w/my friend tom (the "myspace guy"). after heading up to ventura, we made a pit stop at the local in-n-out. the place, full of kids, prompts tom to wonder how many of them are myspace users. so, upon our return to LA, he actually posts a bulletin asking if anyone was in the ventura in-n-out at such and such time. the crazy thing is, people are actually responding, right this very second! he's forwarding me the responses and they are hilarious! this is just tooo funny and WAY too surreal. perhaps it's just me, but this has got me rolling on the floor right now. i mean, c'mon! so silly, yet so real... how did this happen? people now recognize my friend tom on the street?? at an in-n-out in the middle of nowhere... geez... but, i love it! he has created this cyberspace community... and has instant access to MILLIONS of people at any given time. i remember when this whole "myspace" thing was just a crazy IDEA that he had... and now? well, i TRULY am impressed at how that tiny idea has transpired into reality. so, um, yeah... just some thoughts about my friend tom... "the myspace guy"! pure genius...
