Male rappers aren’t the only ones getting their mogul on. Click here for full story!

I agree. Make sure you pick some good talent for your label. It's always best to not be ashame of what you speak as long as you are being heard plus content and meaning is very important but, it's not easy getting people to pay attention to that most of the time. Ain't many rap females to hold it down cause MOST of them wanna dress to sell sex and rap about that nasty sh!! instead of be real, & gangsta, but yet classy. If a female got a on point hook/chorus then they will invest money on the track/female. Haha play to win. Whatever you do just don't get caught up in this bs rap game at the moment.

True that! Thing is female rappers, like all rappers, have to match their image with their sound/music. Since the way for most rappers to become commercial is to become mainstreamed, for a female rapper, it means dressing in expensive designer clothes along with the jewels. Guys, on the other hand can get away with a white tee, some $60 jeans and a chain that may or may not be real. Because of that, labels see female rappers as too expensive to promote.

In addition, labels look at past femcees who underperformed or didn't release material, and unfortunately, they use that as an indicator as how the next femcee will perform....both as an artist and a mogul.

Labels need to seek out new talent and a new type of artist, both male and female. If they keep running from female rappers just because of their gender, it's a disservice to female emcees, music lovers and the fans.

To thy own self be true. Companies often try to shape artists into the next Eve or Lisa Lopez but they are one offs. All we can do is express who we are and what we believe in via our art, but marketings there for a reason and we cant have a chip on our shoulders if a company wants to market us as street or sexy but get our Identity across to everyone And express our individuality without it compromising sales
