So most of you know I went to Nashville over the past weekend to go see a certain band who are very close to my heart. So basically I expected to go to Nashville, go to show, spend the weekend in Nashville, the end. But yeah....no.
So the show at the Exit/In was listed on the Daughtry site and the Cinder Road site as being all ages. But on the Exit/In site it was 18+. So I email the club, and they're like "Under 18 can get in with a parent/guardian/somebody over 18". Good news, no?
So we book our flight to Nashville. We get there no problem, and we're in line for the show by around three. Doors are at eight. So I'm sitting and Mike comes over, which is cool. And he's on his cell. But he hangs up and he hugs me and he's like "Hey! What are you doing here?" So that was cool.
Fast forward to later. So I do all my street teaming, giving the exact same lecture to everyone.
"Hi! I'm Decca and I'm with the Cinder Road Street Team. Cinder Road are an up and coming band out of Baltimore, Maryland. And they'll be opening for Daughtry tonight. They've been opening for them the whole tour. They play catchy pop rock music with a big sounds that's reminiscent of 80s metal. Our Street Team does promotional work for the band on all different levels. I was wondering if you'd be willing to give us a little bit of information about yourself so we can be in touch with you in the future!" Yeah. It gets painful the eighty gazillionth time you do it.
So all this time I've talked to Merch, Mike, Chris, and Pat. Which was cool. Nat and Mac were being all antisocial for some reason.
So about eight doors open, and we get up there and they're like "SHOW YOUR IDs!" And I'm like "Um....". So the guy's like "This show is 18+!". And we show him the email and he's like "sorry. this is wrong.". So Merch is standing there and he's heard this whole thing and he's being awesome and trying to get me in, like, "I can get her passes! She can stay in the merch booth! She's with the band". And they're just like "yeahhhh....no."
So they tell us to wait outside and they'll see what they can do. So eventually this guy comes up and says we can get in, but we get this terrible spot so. So he leads us through an "employees only" door and up some stairs to like this balcony/broom closet/storage area. And we can see the stage and all but it kinda sucks. So eventually I text Merch and he comes over and we chat and stuff.
So Cinder Road play. Merch and I talk. Eve To Adam play. I feel like shoving needles in my ears. Moving on.
Kellie Picker shows up at the Exit/In. Mike is talking to her. Chris is talking to her even more, and like, she's walking around the club with him. So Chris looks up at Mike (who's on the stairs) and Mike's like (from the stairs) "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! *flips off chris*".
And I'm watching this whole thing and trying not to crack up.
So after the show, I'm standing out by the bus where Merch said he'd meet me. And Mike walks by, and goes out of his walk to walk over to me and randomly hug me. For like the tenth time that day. Which is cool.
Then Nat walks by. Then Mac walks by.
So then this really high old guy comes up to me and signs up for the street team. Which is quite awkward. He's like "SEE! Old people are cool. We smoke weeeeed." So I'm just like "yes. i can see that".
So finally Merch comes out and I get the stickers. But not after some discussion of whether Kellie Pickler is attractive. And he's just like "WHAT DO YOU WANT IN GIRLS?" So I'm like "I like pretty girls". He's just like *sigh*
So eventually I get the box of stickers and go home. At like 1 AM.
I have so many more stories. This like, monster, boring as hell blog isn't even half of them.
So who wants to go see Cinder Road April 21 with me? I can take...two more people. Its gonna be a party.
