Sept. 20, 2009 Madeline Puckette - Opening Act for Electro-Pop artist Fischerspooner

This Sunday I opened for Fisherspooner at the swanky and well-equipped "Edge Nightclub" in Reno, Nevada.  The show was phenomenal, complete with a pre-show shot of this strange sweet mouth-wash flavored liquor (rumbletum?).  I'm working now to get the video out of Frankie the do-all sound/lighting/video tech at the Edge.

I opened the show with "Devil's Party" which is a strange opener as there are very little lyrics... Something like "It's getting hotter/So take off your clothes/And you're skin burns/So the story goes/ This is a party, where the devil goes/ This is a place that, nobody knows"  I think these lyrics and the song are a great way to warm people up to Madeline Puckette style!

Then "Money Ring" which got everyone really excited while I was being surrounded by laser lights!

"Black Market" is my current favorite song, it showed.  I think I ended up on the tip of the stage leaning out over the crowd...

Unfortunately, things went astray after I got off stage:

Spooner started drinking heavily on stage and yelling at people
The audience got rowdy and dirty dancing was rampant (that part was fun!)
I got followed into the ladie's room by a drunken male fan
My drunken awesome friend, Kat, lifted her toenail whilst dancing in daring high heels
I escaped mid-spooner-set for a veggieburger!

I really wish bigger names like Fischerspooner didn't have so much hubris to think that a show like this doesn't matter.  People were frustrated with Casey's ornery behavior and even though the music was great, it put a negative spin on the night.

Sounds like fun. Can't wait to see the vid.
