Current mood:  blissful
Ok so clearly a blog post once a month is not going to work. So........how 'bout once a week?!;0)

Yep, not really sure how realistic this is but I'm going to humor myself and try anyway. Shout out to Miss Carletta for putting up with me anyway;0) She's the bestest director ever!!!! (yes I realize bestest is not a word, but work with me).

So since my last entry several things have happend. I have moved not only from my apartment but by job moved buildings as well. I also got a promotion at work and have continued to pursue the goal of being the best Miss Black GAUSA that I can be....all while preparing for the "big show" in June. Moving in and of itself can be unnerving, but add a work move and more responsibility at work to the mix and I can promise you that sometimes I don't know whether I'm going or coming. But all in all I always keep this saying in my mind..."to whom much is given, much is required". So you will not hear me complain. It is such a blessing on my life to have the opportunities that have been set before me, but I must say time management is the key.

As some of you know, one of my lofty goals is to be on the Young & the Restless (yes notice I said lofty). Well, during this past month I got the chance to meet Victoria Rowell or "Dru" as many of my fellow Y&R fanatics have come to know her. She is a huge supporter of adoption and was in Atlanta to honor a doctor that has done tremendous work with children's rights. It was an incredible experience and one I'm sure I won't forget it.

I also got a little bit of off time and took a trip to see a good friend of mine compete in the Miss USA Pageant which was held in Las Vegas. It was kind of surreal to sit there and watch someone live out a dream that I have had for such a long time. But as I would soon find out, what God has for you, truly is FOR YOU. To question that process is ludicrous. For 3 years I participated in the Miss USA system via the Miss Georgia USA pageant. The first year I was 2nd runner and the next year I was 1st runner up. Last year was my final shot to grace the Miss USA stage due to age requirements (I was aging out). As I stood there and was called the 1st runner up for the second time in a row, I thought the road stopped there for that dream. As I sat in the Planet Hollywood Performing Arts Center on Friday night and watched along as my friend, the young lady I was 1st runner up to, not get called into the '15' it hit me. If I had've won that night I would have never gotten the opportunity that I have now. I would have never known what it would be like to represent for an organization that I have come to know and love and who has, in return, embraced me for the woman I am and the culture that I represent. Although I was totally perplexed as to why my friend was left out (she was gorgeous and I had never seen her compete more flawlessly) I was also aware that God has power over everything and nothing he does is ever a mistake. Out of a dream came the reality that I live right now and understanding that fact has been one of the greatest lessons I have learned thus far in this journey. So with that being said, always dream but allow those dreams to be manifested through his plan for you.

April is shaping up to be even busier than months before, so the updates will be coming more frequently.....STAY POSTED!!!

Until then....BE BLESSED
