Heartbeat's a good song, but I think it could do without the auto-tune. All the same, I think it sounds fine with auto-tune, it's something new. I mean, the introduction of auto-tune into Canadian indie rock. It's pretty crazy. Frankly, I think auto-tune is fine, there are just some cases in which it shouldn't be used. Fuck the haters. Great job Nick, Jamie and the rest of the crew. I say crew, seeing-as-how auto-tune is very popular in mainstream rap/hip-hop. It was subtle. But..... I just thought I should specify. Great job on the album, I listened to it like 4-5 times at school 'til my ipod died, frankly, it's grown on me, I was not disappointed.
p.s. The reason Islands are forever is because the lineup always changes.

I was listening in the car with my friend and the song came on (I had streamed the album several times here on myspace, and she had only heard a few tracks) So this song comes on and she goes "Oh no" and I first thought there is a big car accident or something, so I look and see nothing, and I say "what?" she she still doesn't answer. So I say "Oh, the song" and she says "yeah, what the hell, someone needs to slap Nick on the hand and tell him no" Haha. Ugh, her boyfriend also thinks the auto-tune was a horrible choice but I happen to love the album, it grew on me rather quickly.

Heartbeat is by far my favorite song on the new album.  It's not necessary to hate auto tune just because.

=.. I'm in the minority, too, it seems.  Although my wife thinks its a bit icky, I actually think the short tune itself which uses the autotune more than makes up for the use of it.  One minor thing and everybody bitches, when there's nothing wrong with it in the first place...

The first time i heard this song.. well i was shocked and weird-ed out. I didn't like it. but now I like it more like the intro is really great and and I'm enjoying the vocal on this song. So I finally like this song now.  but i wouldn't want another song with the same effect.  Stop been weird nick!

You all are just acting like you hate Heartbeat because, oh its cleche to use auto tuning or T-pain already used it so why would you or whatever....

But no, this is a great song and Nick is just trying to to find something new to work with.

Just give him a break..

Its a great song...

It will grow on you, trust me.
