Current mood: relieved
Well I finished my first marathon it was amazing. The weather was really hot for a marathon and it made the race a lot tougher. Washington DC is a cool city and the subway system down there is awesome. The first half of the marathon I was on a sub 4 hour pace, but my feet got tired and everything else followed. I drank plenty of fluids, but once I saw a elderly man collapse I freaked out, because I thought he was going to die! So my pace got slower and slower, and the 4 hour pacer woman from Clif Bar flew by me, so we reached this bridge right under the sun and I had to walk, luckily I had a salt packet to have, because I was really dehyrated from the heat. I finally started to run again, but I had to walk mile 24-mile 25. Once I reached mile 25 I went out all out, and got the crowd going and I finished my marathon in 4 Hours 26 minutes 44 seconds. I placed 4,739 out of over 22,000 people and 256 in my 20-24 age group. I will post a link to some awesome professional photos of me on Thursday. If anyone tracked me live let me know....
