So about the truck with all the bumper stickers in my pictures... yeah, it's mine.
I never really thought of myself as a huge political activist. Sure, I had my opinions, but I never felt the giant urge to picket around with a sign in my hand. I think one day, after seeing fuckface Bush's smirk on TV one-too-many times, I had just had enough.
My mom had sent me an email message with a ton of anti-Bush T-shirt sayings. I decided to go to a website and shell out the dough to have them all made into bumper-stickers, and plastered them all over the back of my truck. Hopefully you can read them in the picture, cuz they're all funny.
I live in Florida, so its only natural I'll get some snyde looks, but a lot of people (most of them) have driven by giving me the thumbs up, or actually stopped me and said something positive.
More recently (its not in the pic), I started thinking that the bumperstickers might make me look like a tree-hugging hippy who hates everything establishment, or worse, that I actually hated the troops or something. Nothing could be further from the truth - its one of my main frustrations; sending 19 year old kids into a nightmare situation like Iraq... until Fuckface sends his daughters over there, he has no fucking clue what that's like... soooooo... I decided to get one of those white markers that you use to write on windows and wrote...
"SUPPORT OUR TROOPS... GIVE THEM BETTER LEADERS"
right on the back window of the truck. So now, in my own little way, every time I drive somewhere, I'm publicly protesting, telling everyone what I think... in the hopes that it'll be just one more voice to show others that they're not alone in their thoughts...
I'll gladly take them down in 2009... until then, they're there to stay.
