Now onto non-recording news. I recently played a show much different from any other I have done with my own music. I had someone join the band on keyboards. I generally prefer to do my stuff with just a trio as it gives everyone more room to stretch out and really dig into the music. This however was amazing. It was really relaxed and far more interactive than I thought it would be. It was made even more fun that it was my brother Chris playing keys. There has also been another addition to the group. My good friend Jonathan Atterbury recently moved to Texas from California. Jon is a great singer and guitar player. So now I have gone from 3 people in the band to 5, I kind of figured that if I was going to have that many that maybe it was time to have a band name. I was discussing the band name thing with my friend Jonathon Kimbrell, who does great poster art for me and made a joke about calling the band "Jeremy Megert & The Megalomaniacs". He thought it was funny we chuckled and that was it. Jon ran with it and used for the most recent Prophet Bar poster. The poster he made was great and everyone thought the new name was pretty funny so it will probably stick around.
Thanks for reading, -Jeremy
