Lol, all I had to do was fix a fan that stopped for no reason. The first thing I did was take it out and hook it up to 12VDC and it didn't turn, so I started tearing it apart... after smoking two transistors (with slightly more voltage than was within tolerance, but whatever, only one of them actually mattered.) I did have to can a transistor from another fan and solder it in but, I finally fixed it and got it spinning on the APS. I went to hook it back into the case and it didn't turn... WTF!?!?!?! I checked input power... 0VDC... ok... I am not about to trace wires back into my computer case because that would involve a good deal of parts removal, so screw a whole lot of that. Short fix, cut the connecter and splice it into the power of another fan, problem solved. Those of you still in maintenance know how frustrating electronics repair can be, but at least now I can do it my way.
