and direct experiences across the most cosmopolitan and musically
varied continent of them all; Resin Dogs are the outsiders on the
inside. A band of roving musicologists leading the new breed of
importers.
Their latest album More is stuffed full of gifted accomplices along
for the ride. The story could begin in Budapest or perhaps Dublin.
Manchester or maybe Berlin? Lead Dogs, DJ Katch and Dave Atkins,
alongside The Nextmen's own Brad Baloo on co-production, dictate both
the pace and the taste. Their band of DJs, musicians, MC's and
producers, brought together through the fourteen tracks, escort and
guide us from P Funk infusion to hip hop dope beats. One minute you're
singing along to a Curtis Mayfield-esque soul-driven funk theme, the
next you're humming along to a hip hop groover a la Guru.
Debut single Peace and Love featuring Demolition Man embodies the
multi-layered diversity of this beat driven collective. Infectious
vocal chants and bouncing b-line all help to gather the dancing troops.
Kicking off proceedings the Fishbone, Funkadelic fusion of Coming
With The Sound with the distinctlve vocal sway of Haiku De'tat setting
the tone for this global jam. Onwards MC N'Fa spits his piece from the
Southern Hemisphere while Blu Rum 13, Mystro and Yungun tell their
tales from the other side of the equator; Canada to Camden. Exclusive
to this UK album release is 2Sides feat JSD and The Nextmen/London
Elektricity's own MC Wrec. A dub-tastic spoken Worldly journey about
two sides, naturally.
Smart production and exceptional musicianship gives the album the
"grower" tag for sure. A splendid balance of reality and escapism
