Current mood:bittersweet Category: Music
Greetings fellow Roadies-
First off, on behalf of Mystery Road,
I would like to thank each and every one of you who has supported us
over the past couple of years. We came together as a band in 2007 and
worked hard to make the best music we could make together and to put on
the best shows we could put on. Our audiences have been the greatest
and you all have inspired us, laughed with us and in some cases cried
with us.
With that being said, we would like to announce that
our show on June 20th at The Cave in Chapel Hill will be Mystery Road’s
FINAL show. My lovely Lady L. just completed graduate school
receiving her PhD and has taken a job that will have us relocating to
Atlanta, GA. This is really bittersweet as I will without a doubt miss
my friends and co-workers but at the same time I have been given the
chance to do things in my life and take chances that I have not been
able to do in the past. It’s a wonderful thing to have such a
supportive partner and how could I not do the same back?
This is
not saying good bye but more like “see ya later”. Mystery Road has been
one of the greatest things that have happened to me in my entire life.
I learned many great and valuable lessons that I will take with me to
Atlanta and apply in this next chapter. This is the greatest group of
musicians I have ever worked with in my life. Ira, Elana and Michael
have without a doubt set the bar extremely high and it will be a
challenge to find other musicians with the dedication, openness and
good nature that these folks possessed. I have been a lucky sonofabitch
to have had the opportunity to perform and create some of the best
music of my life with them.
And once again, thank you to each
and all who ever came out to the shows and showed your unending support
for us. You filled venues for us, came out on weeknights at late hours
and put up with my long winded rants. You bought us beers, gave us tips
and share with us some really magical moments. I will never forget you
all!
Last but not least, thank you a million times over to The
Cave who was always there for me (as a solo artist) and Mystery Road.
Mouse believed in us like no other and we will never be able to thank
him enough.
Please join us on this VERY special night. Let's
have some beers, laughs, hugs and an evening of all out debauchery. And
remember folks…Have a good time… all the time!
Love & Safe Travels To All Don
