Current mood:Illuminated
My life is suspended in time. I'm living in a hotel with my husband and daughter. And several times a day I drive to the hospital to be with my new little girl. She was born a week ago, two months early. No mother wants to be discharged from the hospital but leave her baby behind. The good news is that she will get to come home…I hope soon. But I don't know. They don't like to get your hopes up too much in the NICU.
I'd love for you to pray for Mercie Christine. I'll post a picture sometime, but right now it just seems too surreal. I want to keep her to myself, to make her completely healthy, to take her home with me. She doesn't belong to me yet because she's so attached to all of these wires and everything she does is monitored. The nurses are wonderful, and it helps to remember that every time I have to leave. And I'm thankful that she's healthy…just a little too early.
Keep us in your prayers.
Love, Gileah
P.S. She looks just like me!
