I've watched the sheep grow into wolves/a well of souls and all of them lost/brainwashed by glitter/a vacant vessel with nothing inside/i've witnessed the suicide of society/as they strive for the bigger and better/but its all for nothing/rats will always feed/whereever the filth lies/and it makes me sick/there will always be slaves/as long as false idols stand/the greed that I see/makes me want to tear out my eyes.

(everyone seems so enamored and consumed by material goods and is driven to slavery in order to possess the new, the fast, and the shiny.  Slavery comes in many forms)

5. The binding of the wolf

I'm at a loss for words/everything around me is falling apart/my world is spinning/how long before it stops/one foot in a cold grave/this war has grown inside my head/the weight of depression/it drags me down/I'll hold my ground/in the eye of the storm/no angels will sing me home/once again forsaken/once again alone/choking on/my own blood/this is how you left me/how could I/ever rise/with these thorns in my side/How can I persist?/when these chains and stones hold me here/forgotten by time and left to die/drenched in my misery/sever my wings, nail me to the cross/i'll bear my soul/when the ravens pick my bones clean/look into my eyes/I'm still alive though a part of me died

(I wrote this song write around the time my grandmother was stricken with cancer, I think it will hold a spot in all of our hearts because we have all had our share of heartache in this band.)

(this song is about how our "leaders" have betrayed our trust and constantly lead us astray, republican, democrat, it doesn't matter, they will continue to leave us fearful, paranoid and crippled. I called it "sleep is the cousin of death" due to the fact that we can never rest knowing that the ones in power will control our lives, fight back.

(I had a dream the world ended, and at 3 am i woke up and wrote this song. pretty bleak i know but thats how it is)

marching on/in a world gone insane/the serpent spreads her wings/infecting all with the disease of divinity/I feel venom coursing through our veins/disillusioned/controlled/I feel so trapped/in this realm of fear/disillusioned/tied down/the walls are falling down/and we are the ones trapped inside/countless atrocities/inhuman butchery/mercy holds the hands of weakness/centuries forgotten by deception/and they shall reap what they have sewn/humanity led astray/torn from the inside out/man is condemned to burn

(because of adherence to superstition and folk lore, we have allowed ourselves to be controlled by the words of men. In the name of something that is supposed to be holy and virtuous, acts of brutality have happened. I will never adhere to this system of fear and slavery)

(this is an instrumental song, and it reminds of something that would be at the end of a war movie, trying to reach the chopper only to be gunned down by the enemy.)
