The great drummer Mitch Mitchell passed away in Portland OR. after the last show of the Experience Hendrix Tour. He apparently died of natural causes. Mitch was a friend and I will always be grateful for his incredible contributions to drumming.

That is some news, quite a life he had and that he was playing and touring with some of the greatest up to the end. He certainly left a legacy...
Interesting read on Wikipedia. Noted that his background was in jazz initially.
