About a Year Ago I wrote about New Zealand Band "The Have" Id watched as they nailed the 2002 NZ Rock Quest and rose through the ranks of rock stardom, Inspired by the greatest rock artists of the 70's these guys have arrived as a great Kiwi rock band. Last year they secured a major record deal along with world class producer Barrett Jones (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) I was told then that the "best was yet to come" and they are saving there power punches for an album which is bound to rock our socks off.
Well the Album has is here and my socks are nowhere to be found, it turns out we weren't to be disappointed. "Back to the Burning Wreck" is melting pot of fuzzy distortion, killer riffs, and thumping beats. The album as expected is a mix of punishing rock anthems and heavy ballads. The Album isn't caught asleep on the job once "One Step ahead", "OH OH MY MY" are kick Arse tunes. "Tell Your Self Its alright" provides a nice acoustic intermission and fits the mold of The Have nicely. Over all this is a Five Star Album maybe Six stars – is that allowed?
My only one criticism is there is no way to play it loud enough, maybe ill have to wait until the live show.
