For the last few weeks, I've been enjoying reading the anthology Cone Zero Nemonymous. This is a horror short story collection of 270 pages--but such a simple description is a disservice to the quality of this anthology. DF Lewis starts with an unusual premise: these 14 stories are nemonymous because no author is listed until the NEXT anthology is released! Cool idea, huh? And for the anthology, the one guideline is simply the title Cone Zero. Another great idea.
And for the writers of the short stories, it seems to be freeing, somehow. The 14 stories are as diverse as can be imagined, yet all seem to fall within Cone Zero. It's fascinating to read a wide range of stories so different, but all horror, many haunting.
If you enjoy literary, unique horror, I'd recommend this anthology. With one caveat, I meant haunting as in several of the stories remained with me, resonating for days after I'd read them. Excellent.
