Recently i reccieved a copy of A Friend Called Fire's new CD "Stories of Tomorrow"and my head was blown off of my shoulders This album wastes no time, with the opening song being "This Grace"; a hard n' heavy hit that sure to leave bruises, especially after the breakdown. Next on the list is "Killer In Your Heart"; yet another heavy hitter with catchy and meaningfull words such as "You'll be another lost soul with an issuse of control and a destination undefined". The third track is "Mr. Regret", my personal favorite. It opens with a soft/flangy guitar riff that quickly burst into that hard rock, drop tunning that is guaranteed to send you flying back 20 feet. The song may bring you into a reminiscing/meditation of your past mistakes and regrets that we all have inside of us. Kudos on the acoustic guitar solo guys! The album then takes you into "Robots Are Metal"; it's heaviest song by far with gut-busting drum work, and a face melting guitar solo... so be sure to have a pillow for your abs and a bucket for your face. This song seeps pure, raw energy with a particular line that some of us should use more frequently: "I don't care!!!!". The album is topped of with the last track "The End" (quite possibly the "Free Bird" of A Friend Called Fire??). This song will give you the urge to break something like nothing before. A phenomenal performance with an ending that makes you feel like your town just got hit by the tornado that is A Friend Called Fire.
"Stories of Tomorrow" is album that makes the future of A Friend Called Fire a very bright one. Check them out at www.myspace.com/afriendcalledfire you WILL NOT be dissapointed!!
