Hey everyone...here's an interview Chris recently did with HANgOVER ZINE:
-I've noticed you guys have had quite a few line-up changes recently. Who is currently in the band?
-I'm Chris, I play drums. Robby is now taking over bass duties and lead vocals, Josh jumped on lead guitar and vocals, and Wes is taking on guitar and vocals as well.
-How did you hook up with Josh (of Huntingtons fame)?
-We've played with the Huntingtons countless times over the last 8 years and have been fans of theirs since me and Rob started this band. We were fortunate enough to get a tight friendship with them before they called it quits. They broke up and all went their separate ways, getting married and raising families. Josh settled down and got married but was still playing in the Main Line Riders, so it was obvious he wasn't done rocking yet. Once Cliffy got married and moved away, Josh stayed put in Maryland and we came in and were lucky enough to get him on board. Totally adds a brand new dimension to the band, him and Wes both. We're very very lucky to have these guys with us.
-You guys obviously have a huge Ramones influence. How would you describe your sound?
-Well 3 or 4 years ago I'd tell you we try to sound exactly like the Ramones, try to look exactly like the Ramones, write songs like the Ramones, and try to act like the Ramones. I know it sounds funny, but they laid the foundation for punk rock and we wanted to carry the torch. We love their style. But lately the songs are becoming deeper and alot darker than "boy meets girl, girl breaks boys heart" type songs. I mean we still have those types of songs, but as you get older and experience more things in life, you have alot more material to write about. It's just kind of a natural maturing process that we've gone through. And making sure that you're in "uniform" everytime you play can get pretty old.
-I know you've have shared the stage with everyone from the Voodoo Glow Skulls to the Leftovers. Who is your favorite band to play with (locally or nationally)?
-Playing with bigger bands like the Glowskulls and even when we opened for Fallout Boy a few years back were really cool. Big crowds, big venues and all. It's fun, it's a really cool experience. But I have the most fun when we play with bands more on our level. I love playing with Johnie 3, The Sheckies, and Teenage Bottlerocket just to name a few. There's countless others that are a freakin' blast to play with, but those are the first to come to mind. Playing the big venues are a blast, but nothing beats a tight crammed in room with your best buds who you get to see only once or twice a year.
-You guys seem to be playing shows all the time; any plans for a tour? When are you coming to Hanover?
-As soon as our new EP drops we'll be making plans to go out and tour to support that release. Right now we're mainly focusing on MD/VA/PA weekend shows. Trying to mesh the rock and roll lifestyle and the 9 to 5 lifestyle's a tricky thing to do! But we'll be in Hanover soon hopefully! It's about time we come up there! We see you guys in Baltimore far too often! It's our turn to come out there!!
-Your last record was released on (Carlisle PA's) Poorboy Records; any plans of working with them again in the future?
-Haha well last I heard Johnny Hero was MIA up in upstate NY somewhere with his girlfriend. So I don't see a Rockvilles/PoorBoy release happening in the future. I don't have any hard feelings toward him. I hope he's doing well.
-Sorry, I was kidding on that last one. Do you have any plans to record, and if so, who will be releasing your next record?
-We're going to record a 6 song EP in September and releasing it on Abomination Records. So be on the lookout for that. It will also have a few very rare live tracks with some live covers possibly. All of that at this moment is up in the air, so I don't wanna mislead anyone with false info!
-I heard recently that there was going to be a Rockvilles song featured in a movie; tell us more about that.
-Yeah our boys Andrew Seegers and Ryan Chroninger made a film called Sixteen Blue (www. sixteenbluemovie. com). We met Andrew through Wes when he came and shot a live show for us back in June. We gave him a CD and he asked us if we'd let him put our song "Danger" in his movie. We're excited to be a part of this. Ryan and Andrew are super amazing filmmakers so to be in the movie is a big honor for us!
-Besides prank calls and watching Full House, what do you guys do in your spare time?
-Hahaha that still goes on every once in a while. I find myself watching Saved By The Bell alot more than Full House lately. Mostly our free time is spent with our families. Josh hangs out alot at the beach with his wife Kelli and his dog, Maui. That's his thing. Not really sure what's going on in Mechanicsburg, Pa., but whatever there is to do, that's what Wes is doing. Usually hanging out with his wife Alicia. Rob kicks it with his 3 dogs, watching tons of ESPN. And I try to spend as much time with my family as I can. We're very boring! We do party though, but thats only one or two nights a week.
-Any last words?
