Hi guys

So a lot has happened since we last did a really comprehensive update.

As most of you will know by now Nic, our vocalist and a founding member of Dance, You’re On Fire, decided that after two years in the band it was time for him to move on to pursue other interests. We recently played our final shows with him and we wish him only the best of luck in whatever he chooses to get involved with. We’re all still very close friends and we hang out all the time.

That being said Dance, You’re On Fire has decided to continue as a four piece. Tom will be taking over primary vocal duties from here on and we will be losing the live keyboard element that those of you who have watched us might know us for.

We are currently writing a full length album which is pegged for release early next year. We can’t say much yet but what we can tell you is that the sound is going to far more stripped down and ‘radio friendly’ than our EP. We have no plans however to abandon our experimental side, but rather to fuse well written structures with interesting music from here on.

We will be supporting the album with several videos and a few tours. We’ll let you know more as soon as possible.

Our new set, which features entirely new songs, will also be debuted this weekend in Johannesburg and Pretoria. If you’re in the neighbourhood then why not come along and party with us? We’ll be at the Black Dahlia on Friday (9 October) and at Tings and Time in Pretoria on Saturday (10 October).

We also have a shiny new MySpace layout and a new logo courtesy of our friend Jacques Kleynhans. The man is an amazing designer and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

To give you guys a little taste of what’s to come we have also uploaded a rough mix version of one of our new songs, entitled ‘Wolves’, to Facebook, Myspace etc. We feel that it’s important to add that this was the last song Nic had a hand in writing and we’d like to thank him for his contribution.

See you guys soon!

Smooch
