Monday, September 14, 2009

I think it is cool that Kanye likes to speak up.
There have been times when I wish I'd said certain things. I agree "Put A Ring On It" is video of the year...BUT I KNOW if it had been somone he respected OR feared...like Jay Z or Nas or 50 Cent or Whitney or Madonna...
He wouldn't have said it even if it was true.
He really disrespected Taylor Swift.

That's not manly or gentlemanly....

Say what you want but Kanye West has proven he has talent. Being a rude, drunk, arrogant, ass grabbing a microphone from a young girl has nothing to do with that. Does he need help in the human being department? Of course. And hopefully he'll get it. Maybe this will be a wakeup call and he won't end up like Dennis Rodman or other alcoholics. Or maybe he will. That's up to him. Killing him or hurting him as some have threatened, only worsens the issue. I'd rather see him succeed in life after taking a good inventory of himself and asking himself what the fuck am I doing?

Just because Rihanna went through that DOES NOT mean that Taylor can't feel upset by what happened to her. I hate when people compare other peoples pain. Why even compare them?!?! They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS!!!!!!! There is NO comparison and NO similarity whatsoever!

its the comparison of how the masses respond to the situation. in the masses eyes it wasnt nearly as offensive to beat your girlfriend as it is to take a mic away from a girl and voice an opinion. relax.

Of course its different and of course it was painful for her. On the plus side, she's young and has many more moments in the spotlight ahead of her.

She's smart, she writes, she feels what she writes and she has emotion. And the sexuality she lets some across is the honest feelings of a young girl as opposed to the whorish, self serving marketing crap of Tila Tequila who has none of this talent. Which is why I respect Taylor Swift as an artist.

Its definitely better for someone like her to avoid physical injury, if she were given the choice. Yes, embarrassment is painful and it was completely uncalled for. But she did what she had to do and handled the moment. It would have been better if it had never happened, but it did and I think she's strong enough to deal with it.

She's a very likable artist without the ego of many, such as Kanye West and she'll probably continue to be that way. As she matures, she will see other subjects from other points of view and write accordingly, but I think positivity and optimism are part of her basic mindset. I'm sure she also knows just how hard she works, how much she deserves her success, and where her best abilities lie at any given moment.

i'm upset about how the masses dealt with this! ppl make a bigger deal of this than they did when chris brown beat rhianna down. and she isnt a strong enough woman to leave him the eff alone! this is a huge deal because it was done right in front of you, you witnessed it. if chris brown walked up on stage and broke a bish down, would you feel differently about him than you do now? my point is this: may it be a publicity stunt or not, kanye will hear about this forever. as for chris brown.. what did he do again?

Well, another sad part of the whole Rihanna thing is that alot of women & young girls came to Chris Brown's defense...ala "she must have done something to instigate it".  It's a troubling mind set, but back to brotha Kanye, like Indie says he would have NEVER done that to someone he fear or respected...and that is why I'm not inclined to cut him much slack.  It was cowardly and a bully move...His label needs to reign him in, but has for his issues only Kanye can deal with them, but we can all force him to.

I think it was completely wrong. This proved he is way too full of himself. Beyonce got whatever awards she deserved and nothing more or less. Taylor Swift deserved the award she got. Its because of occurances like this that people do not respect rappers or hip hop.

Tell Taylor she is wonderful and not to worry about what fools do to her, he will get his.

I completely agree. But I guess with Kanye, you have to take the good with the bad. He's extremely outspoken & on one hand I love it - when he called out Bush over Katrina, I was behind him all the way. I think that took tremendous courage and needed to be said. Last night however...well, he was just wrong. Classless and rude.

Still luv him tho!

exactly he could have waited and said something afterwards but who are you too take her moment her shine and did he even see her video to judge he's another artist not beyonce's rep he needs to come down from his high conceded self and realize she'll never get her moment back, it wasn't his place if he doesn't want to be treated like that don't treat others like that

Truth is Eminem beat him straight up and he didn't snatch his mic. To be a spokesperson for blacks takes more than grabbing the spotlight and opening your mouth.  Mlk jr. and Mandella and even Malcolm were all very calculated men.  Kanye needs to add that to his repertoire, or just SHUT UP ALREADY.

Kanye's delivery was indeed disrespectful...though what he said was definitely accurate!

Beyonce was robbed and everyone in the industry knows that! It should have rightfully been her receiving "best female" award. everybody and their mama (male and female) was making "Put A Ring On It" videos and putting it on youtube, myspace, and everywhere else! that song hit like no other in 2009!

but on a lighter note...it was very classy the way Beyonce asked Taylor to come back onstage and finish her acceptance speech. classy...very classy! and i don't care what anybody says...Beyonce is the Queen of Pop! no female in the industry can out entertain her! she can sang, she can dance, she can pull stage tricks out of a hat, and she can work that sex appeal! she been doing this since her Destiny Child days!

We must use the mentality as if its our last. What if that was the last thing he said or she heard? How honorable would he be? He is absolutely racist. GOD FORBID a white person go up to a black person winning an award and NOT get called racist....and get the shit beat out of them. Did anyone see the video of him backstage throwing a fit screaming and cussing like a child saying give a black man a chance......yeah.......not racist my ass!!! And Taylor DID deserve that award because SHE CLEARLY WON IT!!!!!!!!! In my opinion, Kanye is threatened by Taylor's success. She is WAY more powerful than him and he has been trying for HOW LONG to get as big as Taylor?!?! And she comes out and does it in two years......she is amazing. He can fuck off and shove his opinions up his arrogant, ignorant, uneducated, immature, cocky ass!!!!!!! Have a good day everyone :)

Awards shows are just that.. a show.. I work for one.. It is all perception.  What one thinks is great.. others don't... Should Taylor have won.. maybe, maybe not...  Should India be up for more awards.. I think so... Should Wynonna Judd be able to get a hit song again on Country radio.. yes... it's not always the way it "should" be... But it takes a  lil boy in a mans body to disrespect a 19 yo girl who has out sold him with her album and tour... say it on your blog... say it at your show.. but not while that artist is accepting her award.... Taylor and Beyonce showed major class... Kayne.. well he got great PR but is a total D bag... PS INDIA, you were amazing here in NASHVILLE... WE LOVE YOU>
