Juicy the Emissary - The New World Renaissance Mixtape 1 Review By Matt Conley, southcoast247.com National Correspondent
One might assume Texas contains more snow than rap artists, but Juicy the Emissary has put the Lone Star State on the hip-hop radar with The New World Renaissance Mixtape 1. Leader of the rap group Vortexas, Juicy's first solo effort is the type of underground discovery packed with laid back tracks designed to get the head bopping. The lyrics are smooth over chilled out beats, never getting flashier than need be. Instead this mixtape contains a nice balance of sound as the album is intentionally divided into sections containing various tempos. This is a clever project that delivers the true vibe of rap.
