Current mood:  contemplative

Last Sunday Night at the 5 pm service (which is known to be more "youthy") I sat next to an elderly gentleman called Keith. He was really friendly and greated me with a huge smile saying "I'm KEITH!!!".

Church started with a bang and it was CRANKING. I turned around to look at Keith and expected to see him with his hearing aids out and his arms crossed. Much to my suprise Keith has singing at the top of his lungs thrusting his hands to the actions of break free.

As we entered into worship I looked over again at Keith to see his hands in the air singing the words to all the new songs with PASSION and VIGOR.

Later I was thinking ... What defines you as "OLD"? When do you become a "FUDDY DUDDY"? As I thought I reflected on some of the old people I knew. Alot of them would have stormed out in protest 30 seconds into the service that night.

After quite a bit of thought I concluded ... You become "OLD" when you choose NOT TO embrace the NEW. When you become content and satisfied with the way things USED to be. Your age has nothing to do with how "OLD" you are but it has everything about your mindset.

Seeing Keith loving life as if he was a 24 year old, in the PRIME of his life brought much joy and hope to my heart. Growing older doesn't mean you have to be OLD.

Being "OLD" has nothing to do with your age but everything to do with your ATTITUDE and OUTLOOK towards life.

Live as if every day is your last, while keeping your mind and heart set on eternity.

Be blessed

Matt

not your business.

wow,mate.

that is such a good thought!  You know my motto "If you THINK you POOR, you ARE poor. If you think RICH you ARE rich.".

The same here: If you think OLD you ARE old. If you think YOUNG you ARE young.
