The Havelocks featured in this week's edition of The Newcastle Post in the T.E section.
Below is a transcript of the article.
A View for The Havelocks “This will be a night to remember, a really rockin’ night.”
This is what vocalist and lead guitarist Lennie Tranter says of his band
The Havelocks’ first gig at the View Factory on 1st August. A gig which will see four of Newcastle’s most exciting up and coming bands come together to put on a night of high-energy, sweat and powerful songs. The Havelocks will be joined by Newcastle rockers The Karma Cops, The Owls and Gilbert White.
The Havelocks have been performing as a five-piece for only a couple of months, but have already impressed audiences and won new fans with their catchy, rock-fuelled songs and carefully crafted three-part harmonies. Led by vocalist and guitarist Lennie Tranter, the group is completed by the soul-inspired vocal tones of Jay Piper, the awesome rhythmic power of guitarist Craig Whibley, the melodic bass lines of Lawrence D’Silva, and the heathenish beats of drummer Luke Tweedie.
“We’re really excited about the View Factory,” says Tranter.
“It’s a great venue and there’ll be some great bands there.”
The Havelocks are playing at the View Factory on 1st August, supported by The Karma Cops, The Owls and Gilbert Whyte.
