It's been ten days since Michael Jackson died.  If, as reported, he is buried Tuesday, that will make 12 days.

Which got me to thinking, is this normal or even average compared to other sudden, shocking deaths of major celebrities?  Here's a breakdown of those that come to mind:

Elvis - 2 days

RFK - 2 days

JFK - 3 days

Marilyn Monroe - 3 days

Jean Harlow - 5 days (2 days between death/funeral + 3 days until entombed)

Carole Lombard - 5 days

Princess Diana - 6 days

President Reagan - 6 days

Heath Ledger - 18 days

Abraham Lincoln - 19 days (not bad, considering it includes a whistle stop tour of through seven states and 180 cities)

Anna Nicole Smith - 22 days (thanks, Kim!)

Ahh, good ole 16 Magazine!  Right On! (Oops, no that was another magazine) My allowance was spent on these teen marketing machines before it was even earned, much to my parents' chagrin.

Eh, the embalming process is so good these days that you can stay fairly fresh for weeks.

Tis true!  I wonder how long Evita was on display before she was buried...or, was she ever actually buried?  Now I gotta check my history books, ha.
