Current mood:Proud
I just returned from the Art Market - and what a great time! Didn't sell any big pieces, as hoped, but did better than last year and had loads of fun. *** Big news: this year I submitted a mono-print, my first print ever, into competition. It's called "Medicine" and I'll be getting photos posted asap. I won Best of Division in the category of Two Dimensional Works and First Place in the Category of Prints. It's a great award and I really can't express how excited I am to have won. There were some amazing competitors there, as there always is as the Market.
Liz and I were actually quite surprised but very happy that no one purchased the piece, and we'll be keeping it and hanging it in the new sunroom. I rarely keep my own work, but this is one that we're looking forward to owning.
These prints were produced at the Crows Shadow Institute on the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Pendleton, Oregon. Frank Jantzen is an awesome Tamarind Master Printer and I feel fortunate to have been able to work with him on these pieces! If you know him, give him a shout and say "Congratulations," as it could not have been done without him.
Peace all. I'm off to get ready for my New York show!
