I'm writing this from Halifax on day five of what has turned out to be a pretty eventful and amazing tour.
We all crammed in the van (the five of us, The 2 bag ladies and our friend Brad) and headed for Kingston with our friend Jake thumbing his way behind us. The first show went off amazingly and we played with some great bands and partied with Liquor Box afterwards. I got far drunker than I probably should have and slept it off in the van.
The next day we headed for Montreal. While loading into the venue we realized that we had left Sammy's bas in Kingston. Luckily Bloodsho Bill's bassist hooked us up. Cool Dad played amazingly as did the aformentioned Bloodshot Bill.
Our friend Lisa put us up for two nights and we had a wicked day off in Montreal that included a phone call from Landon of LiquorBox confirming that the lost bass was, in fact, in Kingston and it would soon be on a Greyhound headed for us.
The next day was a ten hour drive that ended in a campground in New Brunswick after a brief scare that our van--dubbed The Friendship"--was not going to be able to continue the journey.
The next day began with the intended destination of Halifax, but a few hours into the drive we got a call that we could play in Charlottetown last minute. So we changed directions and ended up having a blast... The moment we played "Island Air..." was extra special for yours truly.
Today we drove to Halifax and spent the day exploring. We're playing tonight at Cafe 1668 on 1668 Lower Water Street. Hope anyone nearby can make it out!
Tomorrow Antiganish then back to PEI for Monday.
Hopefully you'll see The Friendship in your town soon... (it's the big-ass grey wth skulls all down the side)
