So I just got back in to town after a night of seeing the best band in the world, Radiohead. The Bro did all of the driving up there. We jammed to Songs For the Deaf and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on the way, which made the trip easier to manage. I arrived at the CMP around six and went straight to the merch booth. All the shirts have the same design but with different lyrics to In Rainbows songs. So I chose Blink Your Eyes Once For Yes 2 For No(from Bodysnatchers). I found my seat and waited an hour before Liars took the stage, I was kind of pissed that they kept on playing some horrible middle eastern music and it was drizzling but I managed.
Liars were okay, I didn't like them when I got there but I might need to rethink them because they kept me entertained and their music wasn't half bad, plus their lead singer his a showman to say the least. Liars played 45 minutes and left the stage at 8:15, I then went to go get some food because I was mysteriously hungry, it must've been the aroma from the people next to me, if you catch my drift.
By the time I finished eating, Radiohead was about to take the stage(8:45). The boys took the stage and for two hours I was in heaven. Setlist is as followed:
01. 15 Step (first time they opened up with this on this tour)
02. Bodysnatchers
03. Lucky (I lost it, one of my favorite Radiohead songs, I was not expecting it)
04. Morning Bell (I was captivated by this one, the lighting was amazing)
05. Nude
06. Pyramid Song (Another favorite, Johnny played his guitar with a Violin bow)
07. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
08. The Gloaming (more amazing lighting, an unexpected treat)
09. The National Anthem (Johnny fiddilin' with the radio was cool and I was jumping and singing like a maniac)
10. Faust Arp
11. Videotape (Way better than the studio version)
12. Optimistic (Thom says something about how Kid A wasn't well recieved because "they lost it" he said that was the point" LULZ)
13. Where I End And You Begin
14. Reckoner
15. Everything In Its Right Place (Everyone start dancing, amazing)
16. All I Need
17. There There (Weak, it was almost too slow and they didn't go crazy with it, kind of dissapointing)
encore 1:
18. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
19. House of Cards (BORING!)
20. Climbing Up The Walls (Simply amazing, I was floored that they even played this)
21. Planet Telex(Best song of the night, loud and out of control, amazing lighting and my favorite Readiohead song pre-OK Computer)
22. Street Spirit (Fade Out) (Boring, I hate this song)
encore 2:
23. You And Whose Army? (Kind of weak near the end but Thom was messing with the camera and making funny faces so it made up for it)
24. Idioteque (Best closer possible, Thom starts dancing like a maniac and so does the crowd)
Best show I've seen. I then try to leave the venue but I went to the poster line and got myself one with the dates on it, I'm framing this bad boy ASAP. I find my bro and his GF and it takes us an hour to get back to her house. On the way there, I threw up in a cooler because I was overly excited and nervous. We left around 2 this afternoon and made it home by 4:30 because I was manning the ship. Amnesiac and With Teeth are great driving albums. So yes it was amazing and I doubt anyone who went to the RCCS senior trip had as much as a good time as I did. I suggest you see them when you have a chance but if you weren't there, you missed out on a experience of a lifetime.
