My buddy
Sean Foster recently went the route of other great songwriters before him and left Dallas for New York City. Though sad to see him go, I was happy in hope for the opportunities that surely await him on his journey. Sean's music is heavily influenced by the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie. In fact, his life is heavily influenced by these figures as well.
Sean is a true troubadour, and recognizes the inherent connection between songwriting and travel. The best songwriters are ones that observe the world around them and then produce material based on their observations. It doesn't matter which genre, as long as the music is rooted in truth, which Sean's definitely is.
I could see Sean developing into some kind of legend or fading away into obscurity. I'm not sure the outcomes matters much to him. It's the journey he's interested in. I hope you enjoy the tunes he has posted on his profile, and I hope you encourage him to share more with us. With a pure songwriting talent like his, we'd all be the better for it.
