Fake & Phony or Real & Sane

First let me start by saying that I’m a sucker for the Real Housewives of Atlanta!  There’s something about looking into their dysfunctional lifestyles that’s appealing to the soul. With that said, even I got pissed off and irritated after the “Ego Photo Shoot” show this past Thursday.

In this country we worry too much about being nice! We have to be nice like this and we have to be nice like that! It’s pissing me off! Don’t get me wrong. I don’t condone rudeness “just because” either. What I AM a proponent for is being sane! Let me give my example.

A few months ago I had an old friend reenter my life I’ll call Hawaiian Barbie. Believe it or not, I worshipped the ground this person walked on when I was a teenager. With my low self-esteem back then, looking at her made me hate myself. I felt she had it all. Beauty. Smarts and Strength. When she walked into a room, men stopped what they were doing and gave her their undivided attention. But, jealous girls quickly realized she that was not the person to be trifled with. If you got in her face, you got your ass kicked and that was the bottom line. Well, many years later, she found me through one of these social websites. After a few moments on the phone, I quickly realized that she hadn’t changed a bit. The problem was, I had. My eyes were open now and I saw why everyone hated her guts. She reminded me of Sheree on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. She said all the wrongs things at all the wrong time. In her mind ALL the women of ALL the world were jealous of her. She used this pathetic ass misconception as an excuse to explain why she couldn’t get along with other women. I was disgusted. After only a month, she irritated me to no avail and he we had a disagreement.

And then there was another friend who I met years ago too. I’ll call her Rock & Roll Barbie. Unlike Hawaiian Barbie, Rock & Roll Barbie made me laugh and we had a good time whenever we hung out. She’s intelligent and whenever I leave her circle, I take something valuable away. Still, Rock & Roll Barbie and I had a disagreement.
She on the other hand was very likeable and had many real friends in her life. Both women are attractive so Hawaiian Barbie’s excuse of not being able to get along with women looked more ridiculous.

Two disagreements and two different friends. Not having time for bullshit, I evaluated my situation fully. I have zero time for foolishness. So, over a meal at a restaurant, I sat Hawaiian Barbie down and told her our friendship was not suitable for me anymore. I wasn’t interested in passing all of our time talking about this woman and that woman and all the reasons why they didn’t like her. She got mad and stormed out. But what did I care? She was gone! Good riddens! Rock & Roll Barbie was different. Her friendship was valuable to me and was worth saving. We squashed our beef and moved on.

What is my point? There was no way in hell I was going to continue a fake ass friendship, for the sake of being nice. I cut Hawaiian Barbie off with the smoothness because like Neffie said, my happiness is my sanity.

If she had it her way, we would continue on in the same fashion Kim and Sherree had as they got their makeup done for the Ego Photo shoot. Who has time for that shit?! And if you watched the show, you saw how ridiculous they looked.

I don’t know about you, but to me it’s not worth it. Being cordial to dumb co-workers and irritating family members is enough hard work! Do inventory of the people in your circle. If they are causing you grief, sweep them out of your life for good. Life is too grand to waste it on fake ass relationships!

I heard one thing that stuck to me- people are assets or liabilities.  Get rid of liabilities.  I also call it Spring Cleaning.

Sheree is a fraud- she thinks she is a designer. She thinks sheis high post and she's not.  she's a fraud.  I don't have a problem with Kim because she is consistent with what she is-a mistress.
