Hello everybody,
GO GREEN WITH THE DOUR FESTIVAL
Like every summer, The Dour Festival commits itself to respect and
protect its environment and give you the tools to do the same at your
personal level.
In 2009
we will give you more tools to keep the site cleaner and more comfortable to live in for you. As promoters we feel concerned by the issue, as festival goer, do you? You certainly should!
There are 3 clever and easy steps this year
Thanks to our partner Fost plus we implement the site with waste
sorting islands: The Eco-Zones. They will be all over the festival and
camping sites to help you sort your waste. Each type of rubbish has its
own coloured bin: BLUE for cans & plastics .... BLACK for other
waste. There is only one rule for you:
respect the sorting colours!

You can get an extra bonus for having a conscience: The ECO CHANGE. Bring back
40
plastic cups or a 30L bin bag full of cans & plastics at the
Eco-Change zone situated at each bar on the site and you'll be rewarded
with a free drink ticket! How's that for a good deal? You keep the
environment clean, it doesn't cost you anything yet you get a little
extra for your involvement.

You can lower your carbon footprint by choosing public transports
to go to the festival. Another green way to travel is choosing the car
pooling option. Dour Festival and Karzoo are working together every
summer to ensure that a minimum of cars are used to come to Dour,
therefore lowering the carbon emissions. You can offer seats in your
vehicule or find some nice chaps to travel with in a couple of simple
clicks.
Cheap, easy and green, what more do you need?

Dour Festival does more for the environment
A green contract has been signed by the promoters and all the professionals and tradesmen linked to the festival.
A
GREEN CROSS team is on site to ensure a spotless environment for all. Don't hesitate to give them a hand!
Bin Bags [ blue or black] are handed out for FREE by Green Cross
volunteers in our Eco Change zones situated in each bar. Never hesitate
to ask them what you need.
All the sorting rules are on our website and will be at various eco-zones to remind you how to sort your waste properly.
You are the ones who make the festival a good event or not, this at all levels so please think about your behaviour
Don't just drop your trash on the ground
Don't leave waste behind you
Use the bins scattered across the site or the bin bags left for your perusal
Help us keep our environment as clean and undamaged as possible. We are very grateful!
