I know many of you are wondering what the deal is with these two songs. They have the same music, but are completely different lyrically and vocally. Well, allow me to explain.
When the music was first written, Kardes, our bass player at the time wrote some lyrics and a melody for it, which brought about the name Decide. That is the original version of the song. The same version in our myspace player currently.
Decide was one of several songs we wrote and completed with the exception of a lead vocalist. We didn't have one at the time and as many of you may recall, we searched for many many months and years. We found a few hear and there, but things changed and we'd start looking again. We'll we finally found
Kenny Keith and began to work on the vocal recordings with him on the songs we had complete. Before we could complete any recordings, Kenny moved to California. So, we were left with "the search" again.
At some point during all this, we discussed tossing some of these songs to
Johnny Key of
Atomic Eyes, which many of you know I was a member of prior to Shadow Life. We thought it would help us make good progress while we searched for a vocalist. If Johnny had the time and was willing to do so. After talking with him, he said he would take a listen. One of those songs was Decide. After a few weeks he got back to me and sent me a song called Love is Blind. Needless to say I was kind of surprised to hear a new set of lyrics and sound for what is also known as Decide. In any case, I listened and was very pleased at what I heard. But with this came a dilemma. What do we do now? We've got two versions of a song and I loved them both equally.
Alas, I "decided" (really truly no pun intended) to just use them both. I love them both, so I figured why not. It also gives people a choice. They are both just too good to not share them.
That's the story. I'm sure it has been confusing to some, so I figured it would be best to explain it here.
