First off, thanks to everyone made it out to the sold out CD release show at World Café Live a few weeks ago. We had an absolute blast and can't thank you enough for helping us celebrate the recent birth of our second shiny, circular, digital child, which weve named Treading Water in an Angry Ocean. Check out photos of the big night here: http://www.rigbees.com/media.html (click Launch Rigbee Image Viewer); we'll be posting some very cool video clips in the coming weeks. To pick up a copy of the new CD, visit: http://www.rigbees.com/store.html
For those of you that missed the big night, never fear--plenty of opportunities to catch a show coming up, including a very busy next two weeks:
This Friday, June 16th we're at The Puck, a brand new music club in Doylestown, PA. Stephen Parker Band opens the show at 9 pm; Rigbees go on around 10:30 pm. $7 cover charge at the door. Please note that no advance tickets will be sold, so please get there early to make sure you get in and get a table--this show is likely to sell out.
On Tuesday June 20th we're excited to be headlining the Eagleview Concert Series in Exton from 7 to 9 pm. This excellent outdoor series typically draws ~ 1500 people. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and friends & family to catch the Rigs in a beautiful suburban setting. Free admission; attendees are encouraged to bring canned food items to support Safe Harbor of Greater West Chester, Philabundance and Chester County Cares.
And for all you NYC area folks, Sat June 24th we'll be at the new Opus Theater, 20 minutes outside of Manhattan. Come early for dinner and stay for a great night of music in this posh new venue. Opening act at 7:30; Rigbees at 8:30.
Also, we're looking forward to our debut appearance at the Sellersville Theater 1894, in lovely Sellersville on Wed. July 19th. We'll be opening for The Young Dubliners which will be a real treat. This is a special $10 admission show; The Rigbees go on promptly at 8pm followed by the rocking Young Dubs. We'd love to see all you folks in the Western burbs that usually have to trek east to see us!
Lastly, we can use your help. As most of you know, 88.5 FM WXPN has been, and continues to be, a big supporter of The Rigbees. XPN does a great deal to provide visibility and opportunities for local Philadelphia area artists, and we're lucky to be included in that fold.
To help us continue to build the buzz around our new CD, you can request The Rigbees by emailing XPN at http://www.xpn.org/request.php or calling the station at 215-573-WXPN. This is member supported radioso the voice of members like you REALLY makes a big difference for us!
Another way you can support the band at XPN is to post your comments, show reviews or other thoughts about the band on the XPN Bulletin Board at http://www.xpnonline.org/bb/viewforum.php?f=17
Your support in these areas really makes a HUGE difference for the band. Thanks in advance for your help!
Okay, enough for now. As always, thanks for listening. We hope you have a GREAT summer and look forward to hearing from you--or better yet, seeing you--real, real soon.
As that bizarre character called Baz Luhrmann once saidWEAR SUNSCREEN.
Cheers,
