THE GITS will be screening JULY 4th, 2008 - JULY 10th, 2008 @ The Pioneer Theater in New York City's lower east side - An appropriate locale for a documentary about a great punk band - the storied neighborhood where punk was spawned.

A throwback to a by-gone era that looks to the future, the TWO BOOTS PIONEER THEATER is a new but old-fashioned neighborhood movie theater. Mixing current independent and foreign films with special programs and retrospectives, THE PIONEER is a haven for filmmakers and film lovers alike.

Wrong Island Records (the DIY punk rock label out of NY) and MilitiA (former FUSE VJ, riot grrrl musician, and NY promoter/producer) are coordinating LIVE punk rock premiere events for "THE GITS" and vigils for Mia Zapata surrounding the July NYC premieres.   More info on which screenings the live Premiere events/vigils will be released to the public as the details are fine tuned and finalized.
